"Come meet my puppies"
Well it is a two-way street, isn't it?
Human love my babies babies love my human
Also keep in mind that this is not a strange human to the dog. From the dog's perspective, the camera operator is part of the pack.
Really the only major curve in the otherwise straight line from wolf to dog is the ability to view a member of another species as a part of the pack. If the dog in the op saw a stranger come into that barn, you bet your ass it'd be on defense mode.
this is true.
my sister's dog had puppies recently, and I'm not over at her place all that often, so the dog recognizes me at most.
The first time I went into the room where the puppies were, momma dog lowered her head and started growling at me for a second until I backed up and she realized I wasn't bad. My sister went in the room with me so that was also with a very familiar person in the room in front of me.
Well if you see it from another perspective: Dogs evolved alongside with humans for a looong time now.
(I think I read that no one knows how exactly it started, but that many researchers think, that dogs (like cats) somewhat domesticated themselves.)
So when you look at that behaviour it kinda makes sense. The mother shows its young to the human (that is able to feed them and provide a great living condition for them) while they are still small and cute and fit the definition of the childlike characteristics schema, so that the human may decide to keep one of them and provide the perfect enviroment for her young to grow.

Is this what you people want?
Apparently the long haired german shepherds are rare and cant be bred. So they are fairly expensive to get one when they pop up.
