nuclear is one of the safest/cleanest things we have, we know how to build reactors that use the "waste" from the reactors we have now, people just don't like the idea that there is a very slim chance they could go boom. if we invested in nuclear and antimatter energy production we could be free of using oil and gas, but noooo "it is too dangerous", or "it produces waste"

Definitely. Nuclear is an important part of our energy resources. It's fear that's holding back the proper research and further development of all these energy sources when we can really benefit from the use of everything we can considering how quickly the population is growing and how much we are relying on considerable amounts of energy to power our technology.

I'm not saying I'm scared of the threats. I'm using them to point out how strongly the opposing side feels about this when you and others are trying to marginalize the argument or discredit me instead of my sources. You can't marginalize the argument and take it seriously enough to directly attack me at the same time.

Forgive me, but I was under the impression that a well reasoned argument needs a single source to back it up when trying to disprove statistics.

And you'll forgive me for being confrontational when I've been met with literally nothing but open hostility including death threats.
User avatar #745 - restorf (06/05/2014) [-]
Then you are grossly misinformed. On the other side, a poor, cherry-picked source can also damage your argument and credibility.

I don't even know why you would worry about death threats from a site like this. You're using that like it's some sort of race card. The big mean kiddies here aren't going to lift a finger to put toss their soda can into the trash, let alone harm you.
