airsoft pistols are very much considered toys and there for need an orange tip they shoot tiny light plastic bbs at a MAX speed of 500fps. Air guns on the other hand are not considered toys and there for do not need the compliant orange tip. they shoot heavy metal pellets at an average speed of 1200fps and are routinely used for killing pests.
