 that's live 2d, a software that combines 2d animation into 3d animation. So what they're trying to do is keep the face hand drawn/2d and the body 3d. The face being hand drawn/2d is very important because it retains the artist's vision when portraying the character's emotions, which is crucial for storytelling. 3D animation haven't reach that state yet in emulating what makes hand drawn/2d animation special. If I'm correct it's a fairly new technology, and I don't think animation or game companies have been utilizing it yet. | ||
