And I never really found them interesting as monsters anyways. The writers never really use them right. The big part about zombies is the psychological factor. Not only are they almost invincible and running only on primal urges, but they're also your old friends, your mother, your son or your love. They're you. They're not them. Why, then, does it always end up in shambling nondescript hordes of randoms?

You should read the Ashes trilogy. Ilsa J. Bick does a better job of describing and using zombie-like creatures in the story. The psychological factor becomes even more personal in the second book.

Yeah, and to be honest I really don't like zombie plots to begin with, they're all so similar.

I can agree with that, eventually all that shit gets pretty predictable.

The sad part is when that science doesn't hold up, which it usually doesn't.
User avatar #49 - reddeadtroll (06/09/2013) [-]
It's true that it normally doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but at least they put the thought in to come up with some sort of explanation. It just seems like writers take the easy way out when they just say "Yep, black devil magic."

But in the end it's more of a matter of opinion which is preferable.
