Don't know, man. Korra just feels so rushed all the time and I get confused and lost, so I have to rewatch 2-3 episodes back just to know what the fuck is going on. Like, they could have done so much more with Amon. It could've topped some major plots from LoA if they just didn't rush the whole season.
User avatar #60 - secretlywheatbread (08/11/2014) [-]
Remember, at the time when they made season 1, they had no idea they were going to have 4 seasons.
They only thought they were doing one and by the time they knew they were doing 4 seasons, the first one was almost over

Zaheer mastered the element of air instantly, which in my opinion could've been more displayed as a gradual learning curve. Sure he had studied air bending and all of the backgrounds, but to beat every skilled bender (1vs1 definetly) there is without practice? But besides that hes awesome yeah
User avatar #38 - grogabusk (08/11/2014) [-]
You have to remember that Zaheer and his group were going to kidnap Korra and teach her as her four masters of the elements. He had mastered all the movements and techniques of airbenders, and knew their histories in and out before he ever got airbending. So technically, he was a master of the art before he ever got it.
User avatar #81 - hellomynameisbill (08/11/2014) [-]
So he trained to be an air nomad
User avatar #43 - bigblacknegro (08/11/2014) [-]
what if he was a master air bender, and they wanted to train korra in all 4 elements, but aang took his bending away.
so because of the harmonic convergence he got his bending back?
User avatar #92 - grogabusk (08/11/2014) [-]
Incredibly unlikely, due to the fact that the only air benders in existence up until harmonic convergence were Aang and his family, and if he were part of the family, Kya would have been able to recognize him immediately when he infiltrated the air bender island.

It's like the other guy said, he basically trained to be an air nomad, just without their bending abilities. The only difference between Zaheer and air nomads is that he uses air bending to its full lethality.
User avatar #83 - hellomynameisbill (08/11/2014) [-]

User avatar #29 - hecatonchires (08/10/2014) [-]
It is said that he also could beat skilled benders even without air bending. Seeing as he would be the type of man that would train his body, mind and skills to be at peak at all times, makes it very plausible that he would master air bending almost instantly.

Two gripes I have, saying this as a DCfag that watched MoS about 5 times:
1. Too many fucking characters. The desperation of trying to catch up to Marvel is making me cringe... in all honesty, having, arguably, the two most known comic book heroes in one movie is more than enough to fill the seats. If Captain America will make more in the first week, I'll be thoroughly disappointed.
2. The casting... it looks pretty bad, but, just like I should have done with Michael Keaton and Heath Ledger, I'll save making an opinion until after I see it.
User avatar #55 - redblueyellow (07/26/2014) [-]
That's what I mean, people are being to negative about the cast. I can understand that people have doubts, but not many people seem to give them a chance. Like you I'm just going to wait and see and hope for the best.

And I enjoyed MoS. I admit I don't know that much about Superman so maybe my ignorance about the comics keeps me from seeing it's flaws, but as I said before, it's really difficult to make all comic fans happy, so I get the directors go for an approach that appeals to non comic readers in order to attract more people.

Main reason being that applying that kind of pressure to such a small area on the earth (either pushing or pulling) would not move the earth. If he pushed he would just punch a hole through the crust and eventually warp the planet, and if he pulled it wouldn't work because the chain/rope would just detach from the ground or break under all that stress.
User avatar #70 - IamSofaKingdom (06/24/2014) [-]
They had a comic where green lantern made a giant harness for him to pull it with. Holy hell are the ignoring so many issues with it. Did they even think of the most basic things like the Earth's necessary rotation or orbit?
User avatar #71 - doctorprofessornv (06/24/2014) [-]
Well the big issue with it is that if you suddenly stopped the rotation you would cause 1,000 MPH winds all over the planet that would level basically everything (because the air still keeps going even after the actual planet stopped). You'd likely also create massive tidal surges thousands of feet high, and not to mention super-massive global earthquakes associated with the sudden stop... Basically the act of moving the Earth would destroy everything you are trying to protect in the first place.
User avatar #72 - IamSofaKingdom (06/24/2014) [-]
Which is why I said it was a basic thing they didn't even seem to think about.
#52 - funnyjunkyeahyeah (06/23/2014) [-]
Lot's of people with super strength have had ways to deal this explained. The most common one is that they telekinetically support the object so it isn't compromised while they move it.
User avatar #58 - doctorprofessornv (06/24/2014) [-]
But superman does not have telekinesis, so the point is moot.
#59 - funnyjunkyeahyeah (06/24/2014) [-]

Fuck off. You're just saying that because you're more used to the original. Hell, if you think about it, Kyoshi, Roku, Aang and even Wan were shitty avatars because they messed things up and caused problems. fag
User avatar #13 - redblueyellow (06/23/2014) [-]
Maybe they did fuck something up but not upsettingthebalancebetweenspiritworldandohshitnowalltheotheravatarsaregone messing things up.

And it's not the fucking up that bugs me, it's the way she fucks things up. Aang messed stuff uo because of inexperience. Korra has way more experience than Aang and has had more guidance (even by the woman who fucked an avatar) and she still fucks things up big time because she refuses to listen to people who are obvioulsy much wiser than her.

I don't hate the show. Yes, I though Legend of Aang was better, but I still love the new series. I just don't like Korra as a character.

One of the women tried to discredit his claim. But all she came up with were words like "struggle" and "find it hard" to lose weight. Which is exactly as the guy said, exercise is hard but it can be done. I lost 100lbs in a year and I constantly have overweight people nearly always females asking for my 'secret'. It's fucked up the amount of disgusted and offended looks I get when I tell them there is no secret except dedication to exercise and healthy eating.

One of my friends went from being pretty fucking obese (like the people in the sauce) to being a normal weight. I hadn't really seen him while he was doing this (just saw FB pics and whatnot), so when I saw him in person I had to do a double-take. It's fucking possible, people just lack the proper motivation to do what needs to be done.
#229 - thesinful (06/19/2014) [-]
I was asked my "secret" after losing 40 pounds over about 5 months while unemployed. It's easy to lose weight when you can't afford food.
#100 - anticitezenone (06/19/2014) [-]
Fat people got fat cus they're fucking lazy ass lards (Sorry that's a generalization my math teacher was pretty fat but she was anything but lazy, but you get my point) , and they can't get off their asses to lose weight. They want everything on a silver platter, mostly because they can't stand up.
User avatar #45 - Daeiros (06/19/2014) [-]
I agree completely, and have had similar experiences. I lost about 40 pounds from January to August last year, and everyone was begging me to tell them my secret.

I told them I was only eating REAL food unprocessed, uncanned, unboxed, unfrozen meat/fruit/vegetables/nuts only, no grains, no dairy and hitting the gym 4 times a week for about 2 hours of HARD cardio AND strength training.

They just stared at me, dumbfounded, shook their heads, and walked away. They expected some magic answer like a pill or a shake or voodoo.

Don't eat mountains of unnatural, high calorie garbage, and don't be a lazy fuck, it really is that simple.

Good work my minion. You have pleased me quite a bit. It does not matter if her 'talent' and 'emotion' are no longer a part of her then that does not matter. Be sure to grab Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as well. We could use their fan bases to 'capture' more members.

As for the spy, good job, but work quickly. We do not want this spy to spread the word about what we were up to, now do we?

I apologize for not being easy to reach, as I do not frequent this site very often. I shall make note to check it every day. What I do use more often is Skype or MSN. I tend to use these forms of communication daily. As well as websites other than this one.

I shall collect their souls master.

Master, I have important news. I have discovered our spy. I was horrified to find out, but not completely surprised. It was none other then one of ou own, one among the council: Ron Weasley.
What should I do with him, my master?
User avatar #4 to #3 - trollsinmycloset (12/14/2011) [-]
Good job my loyal Soul Taker. I have found that I can rely on you quite well these days. You have done well.

As for Ron Weasley, the council shall seek to confront him on this matter. Shall the council feel that punishment is necessary, they shall do as they see fit. If he was only spying to learn information, that will be fine, he will never leave the organization with that information... But if he had been spying with the intent of spreading information about the inner workings of the cult, then he shall be taken care of.

Go forth, my pet. Make me proud. >:)
User avatar #5 to #4 - redblueyellow (12/19/2011) [-]
Master, I started my hunt for he who is called Taylor Lautner. However, due to leaked information, he knew I was coming, so he fled to Peru. It is quite difficult to locate him here, for he has hid himself between the alpaca's. It is quite a challenge to keep him apart from these animals. However, I will catch him, do not worry. I will not fail.

What is the progress in the Weasly case, my lord?
User avatar #6 to #5 - trollsinmycloset (12/23/2011) [-]
Weasley has been found guilty of betraying the High Counsel. He is to be stripped of his honour and his position. He will be confined in our dungeons for some time while we repair for a memory re-write and a reassignment of his talents.

As for Taylor Lautner, keep going strong my pet. I know that you are the only one who can accomplish this task. *kisses cheek* I trust you will use your enthusiasm at my pleased disposition to work towards completing your assignments. Be quick my pet. :)
User avatar #1 - trollsinmycloset (12/06/2011) [-]
Thank you very much, my minion. I am quite pleased. While cleansing a soul is difficult, I am required to know how to perform such a task for my post as Soul Keeper.
One day, when you are more experienced and well trained, you shall learn this technique as well.
