I think that there is a concrete, but derogatory definition of "girl gamer". Here is one I took from urbandictionary, which I completely agree with:

She'd be described as a casual gamer, you would be considered a core perhaps hardcore, depending on who you're talking to gamer.

Games that generally require more commitment or investment, like LoL dota4life or WoW are considered core games, while games that are easy to play and appealing to wide varieties of people like the Sims are considered casual games. The gap between casual and core games is generally closing though, however mobile games are still dominated by casual games.
