Be grateful that you have the opportunity for college when so many people don't. As long as there's a college with the programs you're interested in it shouldn't matter.
User avatar
#178835 - rebexa (03/25/2015) [-]
You've gotten some down thumbs, but I do think this is a valid point. Still, there is a difference between the quality of programs at different schools, and while I am lucky to be able to go to college, I would still like to go to the best college possible.

#178841 - amonahan (03/25/2015) [-]
Which is fair enough, some schools DO have better programs. So I guess my advice is from the institutions that haven't responded to you yet, find out which ones have the best programs and scale it via that, regardless of distance/family/friends. It's your education right? Therefore you should go the the school with the best possible program (best program available)
User avatar
#178851 - rebexa (03/25/2015) [-]
My current second choice does have a really good program, but I have no idea if I'm going to get in or not.

I want to be an actress. My top two schools were the only two I had time to audition for, so the rest of the schools, while they do have acting programs, are not as good. I know I've been accepted to the acting school at my second choice school, but have yet to hear whether or not I've been accepted to the school itself. It's stressful.
User avatar
#178923 - amonahan (03/25/2015) [-]
Well, then I guess all I can say is patience :/ Not much else you can do, unless you go running around doing hundreds of auditions, but then you lose time being in school/working/etc. Yeah just be patient I guess.

Commence sexy time with administrators to further your chances of being accepted. You should video tape it. If all else fails, you'll be a porn star and you'll get them fired. Revenge and a career.

It's not actually. There are so many security measures in place, it's a lot less dangerous than people think it is. Every two or three hours, military planes fly over head, which was kind of weird at first, but now I don't even really notice them. There are bomb shelters every where, but we don't really need them. People use them as little hang outs, and one right around the corner from my building has been converted into a pub. (Which will be nice if we ever DO need to go hide out for an hour or so. All the booze is already there! lol)

Hmm. Maybe I just got the bad end of the deal. I didn't anticipate that it would be sunny either considering it was cold outside. Then an hour later it was 90 degrees and I looked like a tomato. Thanks Florida weather. I saw some strange costumes. What bothered me the most was all of the slutty costumes. I think it's cooler when the people spend their time to create a realistic costume. A slutty one just looks cheap and fake.

Unfortunately for some of the jobs at the Faire, slutty costumes are the uniform for women. Since I was a fairy, part of my uniform was glitter sprinkled on my tits. When I go to the faire as a guest, I generally wear more historically accurate costumes. Of course, as a Rennie, I could hang out behind the scenes and didn't have to deal with the idiocy.

Right now I'm actually in the middle of a study abroad-esque program. I decided I wanted to broaden my horizons and experience new things, so I'm in Israel, working and studying on a kibbutz. (Basically an agricultural commune.) I don't get paid, but I do get free housing, and three meals a day, as well as occasional trips around Israel to visit different places. I'm studying Hebrew three days a week and working with animals three days a week. And while it may not further my acting career at all, I am having a fantastic time. xD

Oh God I went to a renaissance fair on Saturday. It was terrifying. Everyone there was autistic. I saw some guy wearing a fedora with my little pony pins in it.
