I already covered this subject here. /channel/darksouls/Dark+souls+3+petition/sRrlLfE/
They lied to us. It shipped faulty. This contradicts how it is described in-game. This makes literally half the armor (and some items) in the game useless. Heavy armor has fat rolls but no poise, meaning it once had poise. It's bullshit that you can be stunned by a dagger while wearing heavy armor. Poise hasn't been "changed". It isn't i-frames, stagger-recovery, ‘hyper armor” or any of what theorists believe. It is exactly what it was in the previous games and From was hiding the fact they screwed up. Also, I copied the above info from the official FB page.

It is working as intended (for dark souls III). People want poise from Dark souls I which is not going to happen. When you swing your weapon in III, it's hyperarmor is based on the poise stat, so if you have over 25 poise, it takes more hits to be knocked out of a swing. And the more you swing, the easier it is for you to stumble. Like how when you attack, your thrust absorption goes down to 1 no matter what. And how does it make half the armors useless? With the explanation I just gave, it'll make them even more useful. Giving you higher poise stat, and more hyperarmor. And there-fore, making people who use heavier weapons and armors more tanky and harder to stumble. And just use rings and have a slightly higher VIT, stop using quality builds that take up more of your equip load away. Also, it's on the steam news page two, and people who do competitions have played and tested so much to learn the game's mechanics and how weapons and armors work. And the most meta armor set-up is I think Dragon Slayer's chest, knight leggings, I think knight gauntlets as well and some other things. Together they have the highest absorption put together evenly (25 or over) as well as poise (again, 25 or over). YOu can use mugenmonkey's armor optimizer and look at combinations.
