the Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones)
What time is it set in?
Is there a good amount of action?
Is there a good storyline?

Well im terrible at explaining things well but here goes:
Set in Medieval times its about the struggle for the kingdom of Westeros. Its told from the viewpoint of several characters and I find that it does move along well. Its not so much fighting action but closer to how people interact with each other. I find that it is really interesting, though a really long series (Each book is +700 pages, 5 books so far) but I blew through the first two quickly. Wikipedia would probably be more reliable than i would be, though.
