this is not the issue that will change anything. this "issue" stems from video games , no one gives a damn to be honest. hell even in college people do not care, i am a 3rd year in college and i do not even dare bring it up in a public and casual conversation because a. i do not give a shit about it anyway b. no one knows or talks about it (and the ones that i have heard was literally one instance. there are bigger fish to fry out there, gamer gate is a child's issue, it takes some growing up to do before you can get off childish "fads".
And why would gamer gate make people skeptical about the media above anything else? i personally see more people talk about things like police brutatlity and how the media covers it up, media cover up on some tinfoil shit theories, skeptisism over conservative media outlets etc .. Whoa hey, I worked on that one. Admittedly, I did nothing more than renaming links and helping categorize everything, but I was part of the effort nonetheless.
We came up with the idea for this in a /gg/ thread on fullchan and worked on it with a small team in IRC. It was actually pretty fun to work on and the team was pretty cool. Unfortunately I didn't do a lot to help out, so my role was extremely minor.
It really sucks that we didn't think of this sooner though, because it took us about 2 weeks to write and by the time we finished it, all the news outlets moved on from gg.
