Okay that's good.

So you have no extra desires whatsoever correct? Just AC, hot water, a roof, and food/water. Nothing else? No desire for financial security in the future, financial support for a future family if you so choose to have one, things of that nature?

Why not sell it now and keep that extra money away for essentials/emergency's? Seems like a better use of something you have no need for.

When I asked alone I meant more do you pay a mortgage/rent.

You aren't bad for saying you're not greedy, what is bad is not admitting that you are greedy. Simply wanting less than others (which I again, don't believe. If given the resources I have a suspicion you'd have more than just that.) doesn't make you any less greedy, being greedy is a good thing though. Anyone telling you it isn't is simply self-hating and ignorant to their own desires.

So you didn't pay for the computer with money from work, nor do you pay for the internet. So there are two things (The first being if it needed to be replaced) that you would require higher wages for or a furthered life to access if you suddenly lost access to them correct?

Do you live by yourself?
User avatar #610 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
I could easily live without my computer, it's just a box of metal and plastic, if I needed another one, I wouldn't get one to be honest, the original reason I got it was so I could do school work with microsoft word and excel and powerpoint.

And how do you figure being greedy good? if you have what you need and you're happy with it and someone comes along and tells you you're wrong for not wanting more , it's the exact same as, Eskimo: 'If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to hell?' Priest: 'No, not if you did not know.' Eskimo: 'Then why did you tell me?' so I'm made out to be ignorant for not wanting more?

I never said you needed a fancy car or a big house. You said you had no desire to get further in life. You do realize proportionally higher wages means you get to do more with your life that you enjoy right? I don't understand this problem with being materialistic or desiring wealth, why is considered taboo? I started my business so I could gain more wealth and decide my working schedule so I could look after my little brother (At the time), now I continue with it because I enjoy making very good money.

"All I want and need is something that's sufficient to survive"
Strange, I was unaware computers and internet a essential life necessities. and while this is joking, it does illustrate my point that you acting like all you want is the bare necessities is complete bullshit. You, like everyone else, want more out of life than wake up-work-go home-sleep. You get that and more out of life by working for it and getting to where you can. Or you can be the dirty hippy who hitchhikes across state. Your choice really.

Then you shouldn't have gone to college. If all you wanted to do was learn then self-teach or do an internship/shadowing. I'd be happy if I was you though since that degree WILL help you get higher pay and get further in life, the fact that you don't care about that in the slightest not only bothers me but definitely shows why too many people are going to college who have no place there.

It's better to go to school for it though. It puts you ahead of BOCES students, self-taught, and ex-union workers. I honestly don't know why you aren't happy with it, HVAC is a great field and I have to hire people for that all the time because I don't have the time to learn it myself. Most people I know who work in that field have no problem getting work, it even opens the ability to get licensed and start your own business for dirt fuckin cheap and undercut everyone in your area.

User avatar #612 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
I didn't ask if you could live without your computer, and of us could. I'm asking if you would choose to.

I'll answer your question when you answer my previous one, do you life by yourself?
User avatar #613 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
When this computer breaks I will not get another one

and no I do not, I live with my fiance
User avatar #614 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
Why not sell it now and keep that extra money away for essentials/emergency's? Seems like a better use of something you have no need for.

When I asked alone I meant more do you pay a mortgage/rent.
User avatar #615 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
I pay half the rent, and because this computer is so beat up it's not worth a penny.
User avatar #616 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
Okay that's good.

So you have no extra desires whatsoever correct? Just AC, hot water, a roof, and food/water. Nothing else? No desire for financial security in the future, financial support for a future family if you so choose to have one, things of that nature?
User avatar #646 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
I will never have kids cuz I can't, and I don;t like adopting and neither does my fiance, and I have enough income to tuck some aside for medical or other emergencies

Why do you agree?

Are you in college/have you gone to college?
User avatar #584 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
I have gone to college and all I learned was that I am now 60k in debt...
User avatar #585 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
Which degree did you go for? I'm assuming not a good one if you're saying it's only a liability and not an investment.
User avatar #587 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
plumbing and hvac... didn't need to go to college for that shit but was pressured to by my scum father
User avatar #589 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
It's better to go to school for it though. It puts you ahead of BOCES students, self-taught, and ex-union workers. I honestly don't know why you aren't happy with it, HVAC is a great field and I have to hire people for that all the time because I don't have the time to learn it myself. Most people I know who work in that field have no problem getting work, it even opens the ability to get licensed and start your own business for dirt fuckin cheap and undercut everyone in your area.
User avatar #596 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
yeah I went to boces too, and that place taught me more... I didn't go to college to get higher pay or get further in life, I wanted to learn... and I ain't learn shit that I didn't already know.
User avatar #602 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
Then you shouldn't have gone to college. If all you wanted to do was learn then self-teach or do an internship/shadowing. I'd be happy if I was you though since that degree WILL help you get higher pay and get further in life, the fact that you don't care about that in the slightest not only bothers me but definitely shows why too many people are going to college who have no place there.
User avatar #605 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
I'm not materialistic, I don't need a fancy car or a big house, all I want and need is something that's sufficient to survive, after all that's all that were here to do
User avatar #607 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]

User avatar #608 - ragingcalm (08/26/2014) [-]
yeah I want some small things i didn't think I needed to elaborate that I want a/c in my house too or hot water, not necessities but I would like them (beyond that point, this computer was bought from high school graduation money, and the internet isn't mine.

more over, I needn't get further in life, I am satisfied with what I have, why is that so wrong to not be greedy? gimme gimme gimme is what us Americans are known for and I say nah I'm good so now I'm the bad guy? whuh?
User avatar #609 - noblexfenrir (08/26/2014) [-]
