Only been watching MLP for a month or 2 now. Used to be a big hater.

Spill it, tell me your story, I'm all eyes (you know, for reading.)

I spent a great deal of time on /b/ a little over a year ago and it was not a pony friendly area for sure. I spent hours watching people call MLP fans fags, pedophiles, weirdos, etc and sure enough I was one of the people doing so. I thought, "it's a show for little girls. Why the hell do people like this?". Sometime during that summer last year I got on FJ and saw my friend had a pony avatar. Curious I asked him what that was about and he said it was just a joke and forgot all about it. A few days later I got on and saw he deleted his account. I didn't think much and didn't bother to ask him anymore about it.

Fast forward a few months and I began to wonder where my friend had been. He wasn't on xbox much and always said he was doing stuff when I asked him where he was. I didn't want to bother him much so I just dropped it.

A few months later in October I had my birthday party and invited my friend. The hotel we were at had a personal theater that our group was using to watch the Nebraska football game. Neither of us had much interest in watching the game so we played League of Legends instead. While playing I asked my friend what he thought about MLP, he said he didn't care for it and thought it was a bit weird. After hearing that I thought he hated ponies just like me.

Later the next night after we dropped him off he called me on skype and admitted he liked MLP. Me, being the douche I was, was shocked that my best friend would like something so weird. He also told me the 2 other friends he introduced me to were both bronies also.

I finally decided to hear them out and did what they asked. I started to watch the first 2 episodes of MLP a few weeks later. I couldn't stand it, I thought it was horrible and it only influenced my hate for my friends and the show. I finally continued to watch the show after another few weeks. I would watch it every night before I went to bed, figuring if I hated it I could just go to sleep. Safe to say that isn't what happened.

Every day all I could think about is watching the next few episodes until I was all the way caught up. This took about 2 or 3 weeks and once I was done I had no clue what to do. This is when I started to finally use FJ to expand my interest in MLP. Besides the ponytime channel here, my friends also send me links to some fanfics to read. Currently reading a fanfic being written by my friend, the one who does the terraria pixel arts. On top of this I also have a custom xbox controller being made around Rainbow Dash as the theme.

Pretty neat.
I never was a hater to begin with. When I saw the Memebase front page have pony content I was like "whatever, once in a while thing maybe" then I saw more pony posts, and I'm like "mlp again" then more and more posts and over time I'm like "Wow, is this show popular or something?" Some of the MLP posts genuinely made me laugh, and so I decided to check out the MLB site on Memebase. I didn't understand a majority of the posts, but I did come across some good ones that I did indeed understand.

I am and open minded person, so I thought less of "These guys like MLP, what fags." and more along the lines of "These guys really do enjoy MLP, there must something about it." I'm pretty neutral on topics until I have experienced them myself. It's the same thing with other popular stuff, like Harry Potter, Pokemon, Star Wars, etc. I'm not into these things, but I don't hate them, in fact, I've grown to enjoy the content fans make of them. So after regularly browsing MLB for about a month, enjoying their content, I finally decided to check out show, just to see what it's all about.

I didn't watch the first two episodes, I went to the HUB website and watched the ones they had there. They were Spike's Quest and Hurricane Fluttershy. I had to say that I did enjoy them. If I saw the first two episodes, which had singing, something I'm not a fan of, I probably wouldn't have gotten hooked as fast, but still, it was fun.

Luckily for me, I got to watch all of season one on Netflix. I proceeded to dig in for more pony content on sites like YouTube, Newgrounds, Deviantart, FiMFiction, etc. The MLP Wikia is what got me started. I had sort of a guide to episodes and fan labor. I pretty much got into MLP around the time of the whole Derpy fiasco. That's the best way I can remember the day I discovered the magic of friendship.
