!!!!FUN!!!! I'm talking about the Game of Dorfs. Dwarf Fortress.

Well it's a game about a bunch of dwarfs and you manage them and try to stay alive as long as possible. This usually ends in dying in the most spectacular ways possible. From starving to death, to blowing yourself up from the alcohol you brewed yourself from surplus crops. From a mad dwarf (or dwarven vampire) annihilating your magnificent city from within, to a bronze colossus (or dragon, or eldritch horror, or goblin army) invading and wiping the floors with your dorfs. Mind all of these can be prevented and if you scum save you will have a dwarven metropolis where only the framerate will kill your poor, demanding dwarves.

The only downsides to this game is that it has been in development for so many years. I think since 2000? The guy still updates the game and it is fully functional, but I doubt it will ever be "completed" the way he wants it to be.

Another downside is that it is a straight ASCII roguelike. This is easily fixed by getting a what-cher-fuck-it and making it easier on the eyes.
