Larten: No, that's bullshit But I do agree that when you do things like that to Eragon and Darren Shan you butcher the characters. Both of those series actualy display a heck of a lot of character development that feels natural over a large period of time and the films end up distorting that and it really takes away from the immersion imo. Honestly they would have been better making a film of the Demonata books. You could do the first one as a standalone without butchering the plot since it has nice resolution, same for the 2nd and 4th book. Or you could do the 1st and 3rd. Instead they choose the series were you really have to butcher the original books to get a cohesive film out of it. Besides you could make a really bloody cool 15+ or 18 film on the demonata books. Werewolves, magicians and demons. I would watch a good portrayal of that any day of the week. And now I really wanna read the bloody things and there back at my mums house.  This is going to sound cliche but I blame Twilight, if they did a movie for each book/ book and a half they could have had a cash cow. However because Twilight had "vampires" they saw this, and though "Oh boy a quick buck" then forced in the story with the monkey girl which was just completely out of no where. Literally everything was good about the movie, except the script. Hell I came buckets when I heard John C Reilly was gonna be Lartin.  They made Eragon into a movie? Yeah right, what's next? An A:TLA movie? | ||
