Technically no, europe was an advanced civilization before america was even settled by europeans, who brought their technology with them, just because they now have more money and weaponary and believe this makes them the greatest country in the world doesn't mean we wouldn't be able to cope without them. And like I said the orgins of your advancements pretty much came from Europe so I'm fairly sure we would cope thanks anon. Well right the economic crisis stems from America anyway, so I can't see how it would be any different from any other economic disaster. But as it stands an entire country could not disappear in an instant without any form of fore warning, and as soon as a warning of that kind is issued, I'm inclined to believe the majority of the major corporations etc who have the most control over the economy are gonna jump ship, in which case its likely the rest of the world will probably just get itself back on its feet. Military power is not the measure of how great a country is, contribution to technological advancement of the human race is, at which point I entirely disagree with you and say there is no greatest, there is only united efforts.

Yet we invented the light bulb, telephone, made the first nuclear bomb, Went to the moon first. And Europe also did amazing thinks that I will love them to this day Europe is still making amazing things.

The man who invented the light bulb was British(Humphry Davy), telephone is Italian(Antonio Meucci), the nuclear bomb was made by using researches and developments they got from European scientists. What you did was invent obesity. Good job, America.
