the guys who run just 200 meters they have shitloads of muscles
those who run more have less muscles. ofc they need some muscles but clearly not as much, cause their weight at some point decreases your endurance.

And I watch the winter Olympics, but that doesn't mean I know jack shit about skiing. Runners need lean muscle. The slow-twitch kind. And they need it mostly in the core. you know how much muscles you need "to look better" ?
muscles are heavy as fuck
somewhere on this site someone posted a selfie, weighing 94 kg
he begins to bulk, but at 94 kg he is still not some muscle monster in my opinion

i guess you have about 5 kg of muscles more than if you didnt train at all.
5 kg is about half a year of training.
#593 - babyanalraper (05/23/2015) [-]
Jeff Cavaliere weighs 75 kg...
Since when can you put on 5kg of muscle in half a year (except when you're a teenager)?
You don't need to be heavy to look good. Just google what women prefer in body types, anything from hollywood superstar to generally is equally ok, depending on the woman, or look at gymnasts that look strong and muscular without being big or heavy women don't like that body type too much though from what I've read .
User avatar #595 - drpenguinz (05/24/2015) [-]
if you are fit you look good ofc
i was just tryin to say that muscles are really heavy and to look bulkin you need over 100 kg, everythin below looks just kinda fit
look at usain bolt for example, that guy weighs 95 kg
(yeah he is also 195 cm tall, but still...95 kg is a lot and he doesnt look like some muscle-monster-mutant)
User avatar #594 - drpenguinz (05/24/2015) [-]
you can
for real, you can
you just have to do it right

most people go to the gym like 2 times a week and stay there for not even an hour and expect to grow muscles
nope

then you have to eat enough proteins and protein shakes are mostly useless, people overestimate how much proteins there actually are in and that they arent as efficient as animal proteins, like in meat or cheese

most protein pulvers actually contain about 70% protein (the flavored ones, which are usually bought by people) so you would have to eat about 200 grams of protein pulver everyday for decent gainz (more is too much, less is not enough) and that shits gonna be expensive.
#336 - underthetable (05/22/2015) [-]
I was the same way, i would eat and drink whatever I wanted and I went from 160 pounds at 18 years old to 200 pounds at 20 and then 250 and i'm like wow no i can't be that big. i've worked out every day since i was 16, i'm 220 right now my goal is about 190.. i'm still freaking fat but whatever i eat chicken, greens, fish, protein shakes, salads, and that's it. it gets exhausting eating the same things but it's worth it to see the weight coming off. i might put together a before and after picture real quick. maybe idk i'm a little embarrassed lol
User avatar #346 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
To be completely honest I've always been skinny, but that's because I've been running since I was 12. I was the guy who LOST weight after the season was over because I quit running as hard and lost muscle mass. Ever since high school I've been moving between 165ish and 185ish, but for the last two years I've been 185 whether I'm lifting or not. I go through patches of lifting and I lose fat and gain muscle, and then I get lazy for a while and lose the muscle and gain some fat. I've never really cared about my diet, except for upping my protein intake when I'm lifting.

I think you misunderstand my goal. I am a runner. I have been since I was 12. I don't want to be a some huge bodybuilder. I just want to have some muscle. You clearly don't care about running and that's fine. We have different goals. I want to run the Boston marathon, you want to be very strong. And that's great. I was at my goal, I could lift, I could run, and I could eat whatever the fuck I wanted. I was happy and healthy. I fail to see how this is not a good place to be at.

i don't want to tell you what to do. You're skinnier than me, but i mean you should be pushing well over 200 pounds on your abs with cables and 50 pound decline sit ups and reverse crunches. my bench is 275, squat 350, curl max like 75. my triceps are the best part of me different exercises well over 100 pound lifts. overhead press is 215 or more. just literally have to work your whole body to get any kind of good results and i eat about 200 + grams of protein a day with 1800 calories, no sugars, less then 200 carbs. You say you eat nothing but junk but if you're young it's going to catch up to you quick. you're just conditioned your muscles to be smaller is all with running. Look up type 1 and 2 muscle fibers. i'd stop rubbing and start lifting heavy.
User avatar #329 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
I don't really want to get huge. I'm more focused on running. I just lift to look better (I called it my "Weights for Dates" Program). I'm not really going for bulk. And you can be a great runner and eat terribly. I read an Runner's World article about the ungodly eating habits of ultramarathoners. They would eat tubs or ice cream because they run like 20 miles a day, and they would all be fine and in great shape. It's all about caloric intake and how much you burn. I know if I eat better I will get in better shape quicker, but I want to enjoy my life, and I fucking love bacon cheeseburgers and munchies and Mt Dew.

muscles are heavy as fuck
somewhere on this site someone posted a selfie, weighing 94 kg
he begins to bulk, but at 94 kg he is still not some muscle monster in my opinion

i guess you have about 5 kg of muscles more than if you didnt train at all.
(yeah he is also 195 cm tall, but still...95 kg is a lot and he doesnt look like some muscle-monster-mutant)

you can
for real, you can
you just have to do it right

most people go to the gym like 2 times a week and stay there for not even an hour and expect to grow muscles
nope

then you have to eat enough proteins and protein shakes are mostly useless, people overestimate how much proteins there actually are in and that they arent as efficient as animal proteins, like in meat or cheese

most protein pulvers actually contain about 70% protein (the flavored ones, which are usually bought by people) so you would have to eat about 200 grams of protein pulver everyday for decent gainz (more is too much, less is not enough) and that shits gonna be expensive.

Metabolism. Also you can be skinny and unhealthy. Many skinny individuals suffer from type 2 diabetes and hyperlipidemia later in lives. You will not be able to sustain junk food and crap even if you work out regularly. Not all fats are processed and leave through the digestive system. They can still build up plaque and reduce blood flow in arteries, while increasing workload and toxicity in the liver nad kidneys that filter them. I don't know your full situation, this is simply my general impression based on 7 years of emergency medicine and 2 years as a nurse.

But cheeseburgers are soooooo tasty. What's the point of working out if you don't get eat food that tastes good? So you hurt when you work out and not enjoy it when you eat? That's no way to live. And I was in great shape then. I could run 6 miles at 7:00 pace every day. I could run a 5k in 19 minutes. I was almost benching 200 lbs. I was doing great. I fail to see why I should make my life less miserable so I can look better quicker. I'll get there slower, but I'll actually enjoy life.
User avatar #349 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
"i was almost benching 200 lbs"
like this is some uberweight...
and benching is not about taking the maximum weight you can bench...
"im running 5k in 19 mins"
thats easy if you weigh nothing.
watch olympics: the guys who run 200m have monster legs, the guys who run a few km dont
User avatar #360 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
I think you misunderstand my goal. I am a runner. I have been since I was 12. I don't want to be a some huge bodybuilder. I just want to have some muscle. You clearly don't care about running and that's fine. We have different goals. I want to run the Boston marathon, you want to be very strong. And that's great. I was at my goal, I could lift, I could run, and I could eat whatever the fuck I wanted. I was happy and healthy. I fail to see how this is not a good place to be at.
User avatar #361 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
then i dont get why you posted a photo of your upper body
and 5k in 19 mins is not really impressive for a runner
especially not with your weight
User avatar #369 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
Hey, I'm happy with where I'm at. I was just trying to say you can look good and eat what you want. I'm not devoting my life to being a body builder or a ridiculously fast runner. I'm not sure why you have to insult my progress, but that's not my problem.
User avatar #376 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
but "looking good" on a body-builder-kinda post is somethin different isnt it?
you wrote "i look good and still eat shit" implying you look muscular.
you look kinda fit but not the kind of fit the post was about. so your eating manners dont apply here. you wont look like one of those guys in those posters by eating fast food.
as a runner ofc you can eat all the shit you want. muscles would mostly be unnecessary weight.
User avatar #390 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
Please don't try to claim knowledge of running when you clearly don't. And I saw the post as something of a fitness post so I thought I'd put my two cents in about eating. I just wanted to make a point that you can eat greasy food, and drink soft drinks all day and still be in shape and healthy. It's more about how the media/government is trying to say my favorite foods are evil and that they are the reason America is fat.
User avatar #392 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
i run more than you
User avatar #395 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
If you did, you would know that runners do indeed need muscle. And you would know that what determines a good time is not how much the runner weighs, but their age.
User avatar #401 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
like i said watch olympics
the guys who run just 200 meters they have shitloads of muscles
those who run more have less muscles. ofc they need some muscles but clearly not as much, cause their weight at some point decreases your endurance.

and i do run more. 5 km is not even a challenge man.
User avatar #410 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
And I watch the winter Olympics, but that doesn't mean I know jack shit about skiing. Runners need lean muscle. The slow-twitch kind. And they need it mostly in the core. Quads will help with hills but it's mostly about dat core and dem baby cows. And if you claim you run more, then what's your 5k PR? 10k? Marathon? How many miles do you have on your current pair of trainers? Last pair before you got rid of them? How many years have you been running for?
User avatar #420 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]

User avatar #427 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
Dude I just stepped on a scale, I weigh 185 lbs. I'm 6'3", so I may look like I weigh less, but height adds weight. And I typically place in my age group. Not super impressive but I don't have any desire to be the best, just want to be happy and healthy.
User avatar #439 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
i calculated a bit wrong
my weight is about 200 lbs
thought 1 lbs much closer to 0.5 kg than it is

but that doesnt make my statement any less true
#412 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
but as a kinda fit guy i know that kinda stuff
running short distances requires shitloads of acceleration, thats why you need shitloads of muscles
running long distances is about endurance
there isnt even something to discuss about, thats more like common knowledge
#413 - drpenguinz (05/22/2015) [-]
you see the difference
that difference is for a reason
#305 - underthetable (05/22/2015) [-]
You're skinny because you have type A muscle fibers from running. You're probably MAYBE in your 20's with a high metabolism and being that skinny and now having defined abs means you have a weak core. I looked similar when i was 16 - 18 but i had way more muscle and now i have even more at 28. But, i'm fatter because i bulk a lot. But i lift well over my body weight at 230.
#312 - lolsrsslybro (05/22/2015) [-]
just because someone has defined abs does not mean they have a weak core. muscle definition comes from body fat percentage. that's all.
#328 - underthetable (05/22/2015) [-]
eh i'm not going to argue with it. i lift and i'm chubby. i'm not going to post my fat picture on here either. but i do know how to lift and what works for me. currently i'm cutting and i have some ab definition but it takes a while to cut after bulking forever. i'm about a month into it. i've dropped 6 more pounds but still i'm no where near where i want to be. but i can lift a lot.
#597 - lolsrsslybro (05/25/2015) [-]
i don't doubt that you know how to lift. good for you and your progress. i'm just simply stating that having defined abs does not mean he has a weak core. i lift as well, and i'm a powerlifter. i've been doing it for 7 months now and have been getting crazy strength gains. don't really care for aesthetics right now. used to go down the bodybuilding route but i found that powerlifting is a lot more practical.

also, i wouldn't even call his abs defined. your assumption about what his abs could do is baseless because his abs aren't built at all.
#600 - underthetable (05/25/2015) [-]
I've been lifting weights for over 12 years...Power lifting is not good, body build...You can't get huge body building if you're diet sucks and you don't have the protein. Power lifting is fine on some days but not 5 days a week...
#601 - lolsrsslybro (05/25/2015) [-]
i've was bodybuilding for about a year before i switched to powerlifting.

who are you to say that powerlifting is not good? different goals for different people. i have no interest in building myself up aesthetically so bodybuilding workouts aren't a priority. i'm lifting for strength now and my strength is skyrocketing. i've got my first competition coming up next month and plan to compete in other powerlifting competitions.
#603 - underthetable (05/25/2015) [-]
cool good luck.
#604 - lolsrsslybro (05/25/2015) [-]
thanks. but seriously, why say powerlifting is not good?
#605 - underthetable (05/25/2015) [-]
weight gain is one of the problems. more common for injuries. it's fine if you go into competition if that's what you like. It's like 3 movements, squat, bench and deadlift. theres no targeting of muscles, usually you'll grow big shoulders and chest and legs and have a fatter mid section. you have to eat like a pig. it's just not my cup of tea but if it's your s thats fine.
#606 - lolsrsslybro (05/25/2015) [-]
alright thanks for the input
User avatar #307 - proudnerd (05/22/2015) [-]
Define weak core. Cause running kinda requires a good one. I end all of my workouts with 10 minutes of straight ab work and sometimes some additional work.
#319 - underthetable (05/22/2015) [-]
i don't want to tell you what to do.
I know if I eat better I will get in better shape quicker, but I want to enjoy my life, and I fucking love bacon cheeseburgers and munchies and Mt Dew.

it was ok, it was functional. The problem for me was, is the A.I., that was suppose to revolutionary, was just rather lack-luster. it also just has the feel like it wants to be grand theft auto for safety, and experiments with what it should have been, and how they wanted to be. when it was more hacking focused, it was great. there were a few shining moments I recall from the game, using the dudes giant metal guys was neat, as well as the parts that you had to guide people from place to place. But other parts were really shit, the conclusion with Iraq in particular comes to mind. Also the plot has tons of problems. Like how his sister can handler her daughters death better than he can, and other little things here and there.
The main problem with it is that it had a lot of neat ideas, but was to scared no one would like them. So instead of using theirs and polishing them to a shine, the stick them a generic sandbox and just make it palatable by everyone, but not really shining anywhere though I did like how it gave a quick bio of the people around you.
User avatar #34 - reginleif (05/18/2015) [-]
Watchdogs didn't suck, it just didn't live up to its hype.

Ubisoft has this bad habit of overselling their games... and then failing to deliver. When you played the "pre-release" gameplay, that shit looked so sleek, but when it was released you got 360 tier rates and graphics. The demos also made the game seem more open choice than it really was.

They have a good concept though, so I don't know why OP is being such a faggot about it. But yeah given the production time they put in, it should have been much better.
