The 5 terrorists would of had to of been released at the end of the war by international law, and they're currently in Qatar under house arrest until then. Really, all he did was move them from a Motel Six to one of those fancy ones downtown by comparison.

And he redirected some border patrol resources to deal with the shitton of Illegal children we just found. Got to do something with them (You think its easy to find out where 50,000 kids next of kin happen to be? You can't just drop them off in Mexico, got to send them to their families), the IRS thing...well, see below. And Obama didn't do that Patent thing, its a policy of the office, there's a reason the KKK doesn't have those white robes and shit patented.
User avatar #106 - ihatem (07/03/2014) [-]
I don't see what that has to do with "corporate", or if you're seriously implying Obama is has a strong enough opinion about anything to be called "liberal", but I'm pretty sure Fox, a very corporate media, cannot stop saying things like that, whether they're right or not.
But on Bowe Bergdahl, that was a very tough thing to do, but as Americans we don't leave our guys behind, and they needed to do something, and all they skipped was talking to congress, but nobody would leave our guy behind in that decision. He'd get much worse if he declined.
Not sure what Obama was doing while the U.S. Patent office was cancelling patents, or what's illegal about it, but his fingerprints sure don't seem to be on there. Or anything you said about illegal immigrants.
Obama goofed and mistakenly identified a CIA official, but he didn't go "HEY TALIBAN, HERE'S A GUY TO KILL"
The IRS, I'm so tired of that one man, the IRS looked into BOTH liberal and conservative groups, and Obama doesn't tell them what to do anyways.

If the list goes on, please humor me with more, unless you're going to have a real criticism like his total lack of political aggression, total disappointment from his campaigns, and again, conceding politically over and over.

When was the last time the media criticized politicians kissing up to corporations and ruining our democratic power (objectively)?
User avatar #104 - proudnerd (07/03/2014) [-]
I was more concerned with all the shit the mainstream media isn't reporting like all of the illegal shit Obama is doing. Like trading 5 Taliban leaders for a "POW" that turned out to be a deserter, and doing so illegally, breaking a law HE signed into law. Or just cancelling the Redskins' patent because he wanted to be politically correct. Or shipping illegal immigrants into other states instead of out of the country. Or redirecting border patrol away from the border and stopping them from actually patrolling the border. Or revealing the identity of US anti-Taliban agents in the middle east. Or using the IRS to audit anyone who disagrees with him politically. The list goes on, and the media won't report it.

Oh yeah no I totally agree, in the multiplayer there have been plenty of player characters, and a female protagonist in Liberation. Plus the way it's set up in the modern frame story, the player character could be male or female, it doesn't specify anything like that.

Good on you, then. You're better than most people complaining about it.

I happen to dislike it because Tyrion gets a free pass on being an asshole and magically manages to not die in spite of everyone else getting toasted , as well as because Daenerys has just become the most blatant Mary Sue God Queen imaginable . Everyone else is grim and gritty and realistic while she's talking to dragons and running around in Evil Queen Bikini Armor like something out of cheesecake high fantasy.

The series started out less without actually having a protagonist, and being more of a third-person account of history that showed people rising to power, betraying each other, dying, ect, and touching upon ideas like the legitimacy of sovereign rule, rape, murder, incest, loyalty, honor, and how history is written less by the winners and losers, but more how it is written by those that survive the winners and losers. It changes later on, with Tyrion taking over as the definative viewpoint being shown in spite of having done some truly stupid (if understandable) things that should have gotten him killed, and Daenerys not only becoming the protagonist, but becoming a shockingly blatant Mary Sue that doesn't even seem to belong in the setting she exists in. She feels less like a character from Game of Thrones, or even A Song of Fire and Ice, and more like some import from another setting, like He-Man or Final Fantasy . Unless the next book involves Tyrion getting slapped in the face and Daenerys dying before she can rule the world as God Queen of Dragons and Mongols, I'm dropping the series. I'm already super-pissed it's degenerated this far.

However, that being said, your mileage will, as always, vary. I know people who absolutely adore the series, and like the changes to it. I personally don't, but you might feel differently.

Spoilered, because I'm not an ass.

I was thinking how without the laugh tracks the jokes were shown as they are, and for me, not funny. It looked like a really bad sketch, and since i'm already not laughing with the laugh tracks it's just a little bit more akward without them.
I get your point but I still find laugh tracks to be more of a annoyment than anything personally

the internet got off BBT's nuts a while ago. Like 2 years ago at least.
User avatar #89 - twistedwoodthing (06/06/2014) [-]
I don't think it's entirely the internet's hipster tendencies to blame here. I've never seen an episode that I've found particularly funny. And for a show about nerds, it's strange that they have all the cultural references right but still play on all the old mean stereotypes (nerds are socially awkward or mama's boys, and completely impenetrable to a 'normal' person like Penny.)
Also that damn laugh track...
User avatar #98 - mutzaki (06/06/2014) [-]
Right, it's anti-social kids on the internet that take offense because for once, a stereotype on tv is aimed at them. This is seriously the number one critique I hear about the show, that people feel they're misrepresenting "nerds."

Maybe middle-aged fat husbands/fathers should feel that almost every other sitcom is "mean" because they're represented as idiots in them.
User avatar #124 - iHATEmonday (06/06/2014) [-]
yeah, but at least they have hot wives in the majority of those shows. So I doubt they mind lol
User avatar #101 - twistedwoodthing (06/06/2014) [-]
Hey, middle aged fathers should! Shows that just depend on stereotypes don't tend to be bad because they're offensive, they tend to be bad because it lends itself to sloppy writing. They don't take the time to actually develop more complex characters.
User avatar #106 - mutzaki (06/06/2014) [-]
Then maybe your critique isn't aimed at The Big Bang Theory, and more towards sitcoms in general.
User avatar #107 - twistedwoodthing (06/06/2014) [-]
Oh trust me, sitcoms overall tend to suck, I was talking about the Big Bang theory only because it happens to be the show currently under discussion.
User avatar #108 - mutzaki (06/06/2014) [-]
Then I respect your opinions and hope you have a lovely day.

It was a completely original, genuinely funny sitcom. I don't still watch it anymore because I moved out and don't have cable, but I remember it being a funny show. It's just grown too popular for the internet to not hate on it. Hating something popular because it's popular doesn't make you cool, it makes you an asshole hipster.
