The chassis is metal, yes; the little bits are not, such as the tool-less drive bays (but they are not flimsy). Corsair makes very, very durable cases.

Go with an i5-4690K and 2x4GB of RAM; something like this would go well: pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-memory-cmy8gx3m2a1600c9r . Everybody gets close to running out of RAM; that's because Windows likes to cache it for "fetching" purposes. It doesn't mean it's actually being used, though. I hit 30GB out of my 32GB running little to nothing sometimes.
The 750D is a great case, although another great one to consider is the NZXT H440 red/black.

Windows 8.1> windows 7

Other than that, the case might be a bit big for one graphics card. Also a 5.25" optical drive will look terrible in an obsidian, i recommend getting an external one and sitting it in the surface of your desk.

You do know just how big full towers are, right? If you're comfortable tacking about $50-60 onto your cost, the Corsair 750D is a nice full tower.

And in my opinion, the i5s are the perfect choice for something intended solely for gaming. They're at that perfect price to performance ratio. Now, if you start doing more intensive stuff such as video editing and rendering, you could probably spring for an i7.

So I went with a mid tower since full towers are pretty cumbersome. The build itself comes to $1550. I chose a blue and black "theme" if that's fine with you. Also, I'm not sure if you know this, but you'll still have fans, even with a CLC. Gotta cool that radiator somehow.

I threw in the Acer H236HLbid if you want to consider a new monitor. It's a fairly nice bang-for-your-buck IPS, with very slim bezels to boot. It's what I currently have.

This physically pains and disturbs me more than any shock/snuff/gore I've ever seen. The very concept of testicular injury should be blotted from all existence.

im not gonna lie, there are situations where cats are an out of control infestation and i would no problem shooting them to get rid of them, im not a fan of cats. But this is obviously not that kind of situation. the infestations im talking about are hundreds of feral cats destroying neighborhoods
