I do agree. In one of my game's with my friend, Russia caught me off guard, declared war, and ended up having a military of about 20 units (early game, like not even turn 100, but whatever). I was able to fend off a few, but I told my friend that the game might end up being a quick one. Instead, after killing like 3 units, Catherine decides to just leave. She never attacked back, and I just sat like 7 bowman at my border, just waiting.

They never came.

When I went to attack her even, they weren't there, now that I think about it.

Yeah, I hope they fix that in the new expansion, or the next game.

By the way, one tip: If you need to settle your first city, try to settle op on a hill. The early extra production really helps out a lot.

On top of hill next to ocean is where I look. Partly because I rarely play anything besides Elizabeth.

Continents, small continents, or Earth. I know, doesn't work well for England, but it's a bit of a challenge without altering spawn rates or skill.

I think we could when the Mumble server I use gets back on (if you've never heard of Mumble, it's basically Ventrilo).

I've never played multiplayer in civ, so I don't know what you're talking about, honestly.

Mumble is a separate program. Same with Vent. They're just programs to host voice-chat servers. Civ has a text-chat, but it takes up half my screen, so I hate using it.

Other than that, it's really no different. Although, you can know what civs are playing with you before you meet them. There's a scoreboard that givesd the names of the civs.

Sounds nice, but Autocracy has fascism which doubles all strategic resources, so you could get that already.

That'd be pretty overpowered if the effects stack. I used to go for order as well until my friend introduced me to the great effects of fascism.

I went with freedom once. It's really good as well, actually. Anyway, with the policy tree I usually do Tradition-liberty-rationalism-commerce-order. Sometimes commerce and rationalism are switched, but I think it's good. Also, quite ironic, using commerce and order.

Which tree is rationalism again? I wanna say that's the other one with Piety.

Rationalism is the one with science. You can't have piety and rationalism at the same time.

Right. I usually go Liberty>Tradition>Commerce>Autocracy>Rationalism
But by that time the game is probably over.

Why do you go with liberty first? I don't know about you, but I want to keep my first worker busy.

I like to get my second city up fairly quickly after starting so I end up having two powerhouse cities late game.

Yeah, I've been having problems with happiness recently actually, and I'm not sure why. I play the same way every game lol.

If you are playing on harder difficulties, you get less base-happiness. Also, luxury resources. By the way, you can increase the number of lux. resources in the advanced menu.

Yeah, but I find making resources for abundant cheating :p And about the difficulty thing, I was basing my performance solely on games on Prince. Like, my first game on Prince, as soon as I hit 150 happiness, I never dropped below. Then **** happened the next few games. It probably was luxury resources.

You got 150 happiness?! the highest I usually go is like 40. And hey, with increasing the stuff, that means that also other empires improve as well, meaning bigger armies, wars and fun.

Tall as in less cities, but a lot stronger? And wide as in the opposite? If so, a moderation between the two.

Yes, and yes. I usually start very tall, and mid-game I just conquer the people that annoy me the most. I've got like 4 original cities, and the rest like 20 is all conquered.

That's how I play. In fact, my current game with my bro, I have only 2 original cities (French) and 6 conquered.

You like to play multiplayer? By the way, with single player, what difficulty do you play?

I usually play multi with friends (my bro, his friends, my friends, etc.). And on average, I play about a Prince or so. It fits me perfectly. I am currently on a path of playing every difficulty from easiest to hardest. Where do you think I'll start finding difficulty?

Depends on it. What map type do you play? For me, archipelago is the easiest. I play on king, and no difficulty. However, continents on prince are a lot harder for me. I'm bad with early warfare.

I like to play on Earth maps, but I mostly play Prince on continents. Or small continents, just to make sure I get my own continent.

And how fast are you with wonder-building?

Eh. There are some wonders that I have to make sure I get (like the Great Lighthouse when I'm Elizabeth) but a lot of the time, I forget to build some so I get beat out on a couple.

I usually rush for the great library, and go for stonehenge if I can make it. But Macchu Pichu, if possible and all the happiness wonders are mine. If not, all my neighbouring empires feel my wrath.

They usually feel my wrath anyways. Sooner or later they act like a bitch to me, or random denounce, and I tell em (metaphorically, since I can't really) "Aw bitch you dun goofed."

And then I win.

Basically every game. Yeah. You know, most of the time I really want to be a nice guy. Trading, gaining culture and science, having a small army, if any at all. Then, they say that it was foolish of me to trust them- and they get their arses kicked. One thing leads to another, and before I even know it, world domination.

Yeah, man. If I would have 100 gold every time a civ declared friendship with me, and asked for half my money or a luxury resource the very next turn, I could buy and maintain 400 units late game. However, I wonder if you can also ask stuff from them when you're friends? Like with the demand option.
