You're right, since everyone's tax money is what make universal health care happen. However, in my opinion, since these situations occur where poor and young people get sick and injured as well, the fact that they don't have to feel stressed out of their minds about costs for something as basic as health care, it's a huge advantage. It's a system where the wealthier automatically end up paying for those less fortunate so that they don't end up...ya know, dying and stuff.
I know the opposing side also has valid points. A lot of people don't want to spend their hard-earned cash on other people's health, and are fine with paying for their own health care, since they often do end up spending less money in the long run. So, as long as you actually save up your money and keep it in an account devoted to potential health care costs, this system works as well.
It's simply that I don't mind paying extra taxes so strangers, myself and the people in my life don't have to be buried in outrageous bills for something unavoidable.

That's actually a very reasonable position. I just don't like forcing an entire population to pay more in order to pay for the less fortunate. Much rather that be taken care of through charity or other reforms that actually lower healthcare costs. I disagree with you but I see where you're coming from. Like I said, my only problem with your stance is that it forces those views on everyone. Entitlements are a slippery slope by nature and this is an extension of that.

You hear about the ridiculous things Fox News does all the time. Word of mouth, other news sources etc. Hell, there are some news sites that made a list of all the stupid things they've done this past year.
Thanks for putting word in my mouth, that's pretty cool way to argue. Anyways, how can you present facts on a fictional character that no one has ever seen, or been described by an official source. And no, Coca-Cola isn't a source for what Santa looks like.

I've never liked Fox. I grew up with my parents watching it, and I thought it was a joke.

You just bashed a news network for something that was made up. Then you rattle off a list of things that they "lied" about after claiming you don't watch tv. You claimed that Fox News reported Santa was white. What really happened was that someone gave their opinion on the issue (an opinion that was backed up by facts) and you try to equate that to a completely fabricated picture.

You just like making fun of foxnews because you think it's cool. You got called out for making fun of them for something fake and now you're just trying to say, "who cares?"

I actually don't even watch TV. I read multiple news sites if I'm interested in a story.
Also, in a study done by some University (I can't recall the name) stated that Fox viewers are the least informed on world events.

So regardless of whether they did something wrong or not you bash them.
Newsflash: you're the problem.
User avatar #19 - volero (01/01/2014) [-]
In 2013 alone they have changed stories multiple times, made claims that liberals changed the script of a Muppets movie to be against capitalism, claimed, that without a doubt in their mind, that Santa is white, claimed pepper spray can be consumed, and that's not even half of the stupid shit they've said.
#22 - anonymous (01/01/2014) [-]
And you act like changing stories and making ridiculous claims is unique to fox. Let's see what MSNBC did... they told a governor to quite literally eat shit, made fun of another governor for adopting a black baby, claimed that santa was black then bashed megan kelly for saying he was white.

Bashing fox when they do something wrong isn't the problem. Bashing fox when they supposedly did something that you knew to be false is the problem.

Well, from both a historical and an advertisement viewpoint, Santa Claus is white.
Historically, if you support the idea that Saint Nick originated from some Northern/Eastern European country, then by definition he would be white.
Advertisement wise, the first modern Santa Claus was featured in a Coca Cola ad in the 30's I think. The sentiments of the time would ensure that most if not all positive advertisements would feature white people.

But since he's NOT FUCKING REAL, he can be any race you want.
