Couldn't it be both? She may have used the the knowledge of what the poison looks like and what the guard said to make an educated guess. I think that a more interesting question is how did the earthbenders learn to bend liquid mercury in the first place.

One of them did earthbend, I remember that much, but I'm not sure if it's the one that claims he could administrate the venom tho.

Well, that's because it kinda has. The generation right before ours started really fucking around when they needed to get their lives in order, and now look at us as a nation. We stick our noses into conflicts that we have no right or reason to enter, we're drowning in debt, nobody can trust our government to do anything right, unemployment is higher than what was previously acceptable, all kinds of new problems. And it's only getting worse, and it will continue as this generation begins to take control of the country.

We need an about face that I don't expect to see from this generation of people

Because I have seen things from both ends of the spectrum: from that of the stupid teenager and that of the adult filled with regret.

I'm nineteen. Getting a college education that is largely paid for already by scholarships. But I work manual labor over the summer to make my spending money. I work with people in their thirties and up. They can't get any other jobs. And whenever they ask me about school they always say the same thing: "You lucky, man. You smart. You didn't fuck around, man. I wish I didn't mess around when I was a kid, man. I got drunk, fucked around, had a kid, man life is rough now."

This whole "YOLO IDGAF" ideology that seems to be really popular in my generation is the exact same thing that all of my wiser, older, more experienced coworkers warned me against. They did the same thing when they were our age, and now they're paying the price. They have a shit job and a shit life. And it's going to be that way for a long time for them. They had no respect for their future or for themselves, and now they're filled with regret for their past. And our generation is making the exact same mistakes.

And don't say it's not. I know that this is Funnyjunk and this kind of behavior is what's at the forefront because it's funny, but this is NOT the only place I see it. The majority of my high school graduating class thought like these kids. Acted like these kids. ARE these kids. And when I talk to my friends in college they say they had the exact same problem.

Sure they'll look back and regret how stupid they were, but by the time they do they'll have been working for the same $9.50 hourly wage for a few years with no end in sight. It'll be too late, Penn. Way too late. And I know because I've seen it every day for the past two months.

I understand why these kids just want to live in the moment, but if as a generation we don't invest any thought or work into our future, we won't have one.
User avatar #69 - ponieskilledmyacc (07/28/2014) [-]
I know, their future is mostly fucked up, but my point was that this is nothing new like you just said. There have been stupid teenagers in every generation. It's just that everytime something like this is posted people act like this generation is gonna ruin the world or something.

So have English voice actors, it's not obscure or unpopular here. People just can't look past anime and look at the things actually given a big budget in Western animation. Pixar and Disney overshadow anime dubs in terms of money, so they make sure to hire professionals. You can't tell me voice actors like Mark Hamill and Nolan North aren't respected as much as Japanese voice actors are, the problem is looking at the same medium in different countries instead of the most popular form of animation in each.
User avatar #309 - ponieskilledmyacc (07/08/2014) [-]
Oh, no, no, I never said Japanese voice-acting is superior to American, nor I meant to say it's better to watch Avatar in Japanese, I just couldn't let the guy say shit about one of the best voice acting in the world(tied with American and Brazillian in my humble opinion).
