I finished highschool with a 94.5 average, and just did my first semester of uni with a 4.07 (4.33 max) GPA. Just sharing so you know where I'm coming from when i tell you i exhaled vigorously through my nose when i saw that TL;DR. I'm studying engineering. FTW. I dont want to come off as a cocky fuck though, I know thst was only first semester, and I am going to bust my ass to keep the marks up.

Do you imagine that the rest of the world doesn't use 20s as their most common bill?
#19 - someoneforamoment (12/29/2015) [-]
That's a lot of text to just say that the bill is worth about $70 US.

Which goes with what the OC is talking about. I fail to see what the OC got wrong. The joke was that people are bidding for something worth far less than what they are bidding, and that is also what it appears to be.

It's just a joke. www.stuff.co.nz/national/75492051/Trade-Me-auction-for-100-note-draws-bids-above-200

And really? I see $100 notes quite often and I'm a broke student!

I used to work at a Countdown in Cambridge and every fucker and their mother paid in $100 notes. Even little kids buying themselves lollies sometimes, handing me $100 notes and I'd give them like 95 in change.

It may be because Cambridge is a bit of an old folks town, lots of them like to carry around hefty dollar bills. I know this because since I grew up here too it's quite common to go get lollies from the dairy and grandparents are always willing to shout.

Magic Study, Poison Study, Fire Study, Outside in and Inside out, Book of Lies, Master of Books, The Book from Baden Dark, The Roar, White Space, How Hedley Hopkins Did a Dare, Robbed a Grave, Made a New Friend Who Might Not Have Really Been There at All, And While He Was at it Committed a Terrible Sin Which Everyone Was Doing Even Though He Didn't Know it, How to live safely in a science fiction universe, I am God, A stark and wormy knight, Flatland, The book of five rings, The art of war, Anything by Brandon Sanderson (young adult ones are good for light reading, cosmere is good for long sessions, legion & I hate dragons is good for some interesting concepts), Ringworld, The Expanse series, Technomancer (& sequels), John Flanagan (written for kids but have some very adult concepts and are good for when you don't want something to heavy or serious), Tolkien (all, obviously. The Silmarillion is only for those with determination though), The Demonata series, Terry Pratchet (I'm especially fond of the death & the post office series')
