It's likely because he's mocking all the people who shout out "I'm so dONE WITH THIS SITE" on funnyjunk, who do it to mock tumblr, even though it really doesn't happen as often on tumblr as we like to think.

Well if you go and read some articles about it the answers were mere suggestions for possible issues. Such as the used game issue. With the new system they have it download the game as you play it so you don't have to wait for it to download and then play it if you want a faster game play experience, and when its done downloading you don't need to put in the game disc each time which is something people have wanted for awhile. then with the systems doing this what will happen if I sell the game to some one, or let them have it sense I already downloaded it, in oreder to prevent people exploiting this and getting 6 copies for the price of one if all your friends borrow it they proposed a fee as an option, what I feel like might happen is xbox accounts that have writes to the game. If some one downloads your disc you get locked out, but then if you never connect to the internet it wont matter.... and so on and so forth. Microsoft is trying to add a much desired feature without making it so people can exploit it, a matter that will be a little hard to accomplish.

Or, you know, they could improve their digital download service so games don't come out 5 months after they came out in stores and they're not fucking 65 USD.

well I don't think that's a huge item on the list because revenue from download market has a bit of a cap because people still like the physical copy and will never get a game off the online market, and the price is the same as if you ordered the copy from xbox, if you want pricing that fluctuates to trends you need to go to a retailer, plus your comment seems to be a bit of a Tangent from mine, and not entirely related.

You were talking about used games and I'm saying that they should not worry about them as much as they should just improve their Digital Distribution service.

Also, the games can be priced at less because there is no factory you have to assemble disks at and you have an infinite supply, only worrying about demand. There's a reason Steam has so many sales. They don't have to worry about supply, only up demand.

Oh very true the cost for online distribution is very minimal. It makes variable cost almost none existent, but there is still some fixed cost associated with it, but the profit margin compared to physical copies is a great deal more. Making it so they can lower cost on the online market, but people who do console gaming aren't to hip on Download games. Mainly do to the fact if the system is out of date the ability to download the game you bought might go away. Also xbox probably keeps the digital copies price up so not to disrupt the market for physical copies. if xbox underbid the retailers they eventually wouldn't have physical copies for games, and between having a copy that I can reuse, and a copy that might not be supported down the line I will choose the reusable copy.
