I recently watched My Name is Khan and cried with that... Inception (...yeah I know), can't remember the others right now, I'm sick...
Is not a movie but Eureka 7 and Elfen Lied are my favorite animes.... they're like Soo deep and amazing! (don't say "That's what she said!)

Obviously you have seen "V for vndetta", right? Anyway, i suggest you to see "the prestige" (same creator of "inception"), Constantine (same creator of V and Watchmen) and inside man.
Do you want to cry? "into the wild" is a pretty cool guy, eh goes into the nature and doesn't afraid of anything.
Meme apart, it's a good film and a true story.
About anime.. Well, I suggest you to see hellsing and legend of legendary heroes, silly naame but very good story. And, for last, Trigun, but maybe you have seen it yet.

Into the wild, sounds like Bear Grylls' movie.
And Hellsing of course! I saw the ovas, the anime and the dvd version of the anime but I don't know about the Legendary Heroes.
