Corrupt men corrupt faith. There exists good things, and evil things. Therefore, good things happen and evil things happen. I've watched my closest friend die of cancer at the age of 14, my brother died of kidney failure at the age of three. Tough stuff to get over. Luckily, I was spared and live with one kidney. I may have firsthand reason to be faithful, but things like this happen all the time. Naturally, people find it easier to capitalize the wrong and become skeptical rather to seek the right and live off of it.

I just hate it when people think you have to be a stuck up, Bible thumper just because they believe that people should live by a set of guidelines (aka Laws). The kind, caring atheists I know only are atheists because the concept of a higher entity is hard to grasp. Unlike a lot of people who are atheists just because they think being a moral person is too tough.

A concept of a higher power is easier to grasp than a lot of people seem to think, but some people doubt it's existence due to either logical fallacies, or simply the fact that they've seen much bad things and evil, that trusting in some omnipotent supposedly kind being, is no longer an option to them.

Plus, men corrupt faith. It's a simple truth, that has sadly been repeated throughout history, innumerable times.
