We have the huntsman, but trust me on this, they're harmless. They actually eat all the more dangerous ones, basically the Good Guy Greg of the spider world.

Aw, no they're not! King browns? May aswell be called King of hugs! Bird eating spider? They so fuzzy! But dear god in heaven, stay away from wombats. They will fuck-you-up

um, most of our wildlife is built to kill you, that may be cool, but also scary and fuck.

Austrailia is a fucking awesome country.
Lots of poison stuff though.
Kinda puts me off of holidaying there.

Don't worry about the poisonous stuff, its not nearly as abundant or dangerous as you'd think :) Like, once I accidentally walked past a king brown (massive snake, fast as hell, very venomous) and I was like, a foot from it. He was curled up, and slowly trying to slink away before I could see him, he didn't want to hurt me at all, was just scared.

Also if you're from a cooler place like America or England though, I'd reccomend coming around spring, or late summer, as it can get a bit nasty over here.
