Not only do you have a popular thing which is very easy and gratifying to hate/oppose, but if you're a casual user, you don't really have any connection to the site. Thus, you don't take it seriously, and you're more likely to post unrefined comments laden with curse words and the like.

I don't have anything against the thumb system (indeed, I think it's more good than bad), but it does have a nasty habit of providing fertile grounds for angry idiots to be vocal.

I don't take anything on the internet remotely seriously, so to me FunnyJunk is just a website that makes me laugh sometimes.
I don't think about why and don't care about how. When people dwell on things like that, they lose track of the whole "laugh" part, they stop taking enjoyment in what they do.

I'm a Mac user myself and hate most of the people who use Macs. Maybe that's too strong of a word, but I see all these people getting all orgasmic over the MacBook they just got for Christmas and I think a computer running Windows 95 would get everything done that they needed. Apple makes a great computer, and they sure as hell know how to market them, but people need to realize what they do and don't need.

If people think they need to spend more money on something to be happy, that's their business. Let them. It doesn't hurt anyone but themselves and it helps them feel good about themselves. More power to them.
