Seventeen but I spend all my time reading. I've finished capital volume 1 and am moving on towards other books of the same magnitude. I don't feel like explaining the entire TRUE Marxist ideology or spend time explaining all of the differences between Marxism and what the Russians did, either. But what I can tell you is that it wasn't even remotely close to what Marx said.

I'm a full blown communist, and beyond saving. Reactionary politics are useless for voicing the will of the people. I think they need to take it for themselves; but that won't happen until we reach class consciousness, something that won't happen until those two political parties stop subdividing us to the point where we are all singularities, with boundaries at every angle.

I'm Russian and went through a phase of communism (ideology, I never lived in the CCCP). Good system but it's impossible to achieve due to economic restrictions of the world, and the inept civil disobedience in every person. I actually did a thesis paper on this topic.

People naturally subdivide. Anything to make us un-unique is valued. Even counter-culture is still meta.

I don't know how old you are, or what you stance on reading is, but let me suggest anything by Ayn Rand. She is a Russian author and her ideology is very profound. Anthem and Fountainhead are some of her best works.

This is the ultimate truth with American politics. I hate the two-party system. It's hypocritical to the whole MURICA FREEDOM FUCK YEAH attitude they claim to have. If voting did anything they'd make it illegal. Nothing changes between presidents. They just shoot the deficit higher and disregard the people.
User avatar #844 - philythemaster (06/15/2012) [-]
And then you look at viable candidates who have non-partisan stance on many issues. I'm conservative on topic A, but liberal on topic B. You know, the same type of answer you would expect out of a human, get shut down. Someone like Ron Paul, who I'm saying is the perfect man, but at least he was a human candidate rather than a political candidate. He got completely blocked by every media outlet.

Voting does a lot. But when your options are between a steaming plate of dog shit, or a steaming plate a dog shit that also has some cat food in it, no matter what you pick it's going to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Yes, in a two-party system neither group wants to work with the other and both have polarizing viewpoints, forcing the people with moderate views into the black, unvisited hell-pit of the third-parties, never to be heard from again
User avatar #892 - dmanspeed (06/15/2012) [-]
we need a 3rd party in the mix. the libertarians. these guys will be the tie breaker and will create a 3rd point of veiw to the entire process.

"Every four years the proletariat votes for a new leader to oppress them."

Both parties suck, both parties are basically the same. Democrats are slightly better than republicans, but only by a sliver. Or half a sliver. Or a quarter of a sliver...
User avatar #837 - philythemaster (06/15/2012) [-]
Both parties are only the same because they offer words over solutions. I'll be that guy who says that the biggest issue with America is the voting public, not the voted officials.

People either don't care, don't want to care, can't afford to care, or are too stupid to care, and therefore vote based on engraved prejudice. So politicians play off these prejudices. It's all about getting the most fulfilling circlejerk out of your fanbase.
