Mine overclocks to 3.6, but it can't handle games, i can use it for rendering videos tho.

I think its because your processor doesn't go as fast.
It goes to 2.2 and mine goes to 2.8.
That is a huge difference when it comes to stuff like this.
I have to lock my CPU at a lower rate than what my cap is.
I normally keep it locke at 2.3 or 2.4.

I would say it overheats when i get Crashes (security shutdown) to prevent the processor from burning.

A year? It started overheating once i opened Crysis 3. Like 2 weeks after i bought it!

I played through crysis 3 on my laptop
i got GT 630m, i7 2670M @2,20 GHz
it runs fine, didnt crash at all...
only got hotter if i didnt clean it for a while

what do you mean by overheating?
