#16 - why would you do that? marijuana doesnt have negative side effects  [+] (21 new replies) 03/02/2013 on In the hallway of my dorm... -12

Uhm, no...

It speeds up the process in which you become a schizophrenic.

Also, I had to quit smoking marijuana to do something productive with my life, such as joining cross and hopefully lacrosse this year. (Tryouts are tomorrow).

Smoking marijuana, or anything really can slow down your cardiovascular system, and I can't afford that, seeing as how I want to get pumped.

But not everyone's athletic, so I won't condemn you for trying to have fun doing nothing but sitting on your ass and eating chips.
#125 - blakhawk (03/03/2013) [-]
Micheal Phelps smoked weed.
#186 - xnotcreative (03/03/2013) [-]
And just like me, he quit.

He was actually one of the reasons why I quit actually. He quit so he could continue doing what he loves, without failing drug tests.

Lacrosse try outs are in 2 hours for me, and I don't want to fail the drug test they randomly make you take, so I quit to play and be productive.

Lol shut up dude, i play 2 high school sports and smoke pot everyday. i dont care if you dont smoke marijuana, thats cool, you're choice, but dont say put it down saying it makes you sit on your ass all day eating...
User avatar #129 - sammyjankiis (03/03/2013) [-]
Ya to many people put it down on this site like if you do it your the laziest person in the world. People dont like you can actually be productive in life and use marijuana..
#78 - xnotcreative (03/02/2013) [-]
I'm a choice?

Your grammars awful.

Also, you're a waste of money.

Do you know how expensive it is to smoke marijuana everyday? Have you ever thought about your parents and what a burden you are to them?

Of course not you selfish cunt. If you're in high school, you should be saving up for a car or college, instead of setting yourself up for failure.
User avatar #79 - bongconnery (03/02/2013) [-]
Why am I a burden to my parents? I buy my herb with my own money that I earn from my job. Also, I have a car and am not setting myself up for a failure. There are plenty of successful people who smoke pot. I've already been accepted into a college and like I said, I have a job. Stop assuming everyone who smokes pot is a lazy and unproductive bum, and ESPECIALLY stop bashing them over the internet.
#84 - xnotcreative (03/02/2013) [-]
It's kind of hard believing you've been accepted into a college when you don't even have a grasp on simple grammar.

Also, I never said pot automatically makes you a bum. I smoke pot occasionally just for recreational fun once in a while, but excessive users, especially at our age, is a waste of space to me.
User avatar #86 - bongconnery (03/02/2013) [-]
Grammar criticizing is a sign of a man who is losing an argument. Anyway, I hope you get a lighter look at marijuana use in the future, but I respect your opinion.
User avatar #122 - admiralen (03/03/2013) [-]
you shouldnt respect this asshats opinion he looks down on pretty much everyone
#185 - xnotcreative (03/03/2013) [-]
It's because you're just that pitiful.

Why would I respect a future hobo?
User avatar #190 - admiralen (03/03/2013) [-]
why would anyone respect a retarded assclown who cant respect anyone else? enjoy lacrosse at 50
#89 - xnotcreative (03/02/2013) [-]
I have nothing against marijuana.

I'm not sure how to emphasize this but I only hate the people who live for the substance, especially at our age when they have so much they need to do in life in order to become successful.

Yeah, THC is fun to play around with, but when your life revolves around the herb, maybe that's when one should probably think about getting a hobby.
#38 - anonymous (03/02/2013) [-]
Good luck at lacrosse man, i gave up smoking for tryouts myself. Greatly improved speed and overall hand eye coordination.

Just proving points here. The Bible is a book, plain and simple. It is the ones who forget that and try to take it a factual work of history and restrict others from living their lives because of their beliefs.
I've read the Bible. And I have many problems with it. I find positive messages in it, but there is so much to it that is wrong morally and just plain backwards. And it isn't its own fault really. User avatar #250 - drewbridge (02/25/2013) [-]
Leviticus 20 verse 1. Leviticus is very popular for being hateful.

"The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Say to the Israelites:"

And then goes on to name many laws for them to follow.

After that, there's this:
Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out. 23 You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them. 24 But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has set you apart from the nations.

tl;dr "These are some laws for you dumbasses to follow because you're my chosen people, don't screw it up".

Very obviously talking to the early Israelites to keep them in line.
User avatar #252 - godofcorndog (02/25/2013) [-]
Mmhmm...I see. I see. Well, I asked my father, who is a reverend about the topic. He said that most of the Old Testament WAS taken from the Torah, not word for word, but most of the concepts and all of the prophets were copied. However, the messages and passages were indented to be part of the whole Christian message. So, take that as you want to.

Yeah, but it's in the bible, that's taught in schools as the word of God. These kids don't know any better, and at least my teacher never really told me to be critical towards the bible. No critical thinking imparted, whatsoever, so there's a risk for a child to get bad influences from a book that's supposedly very reputable. You know, kind of like the "gay" thing. Or Earth having only existed for only some thousands of years. And there are definitely religious nuts to be found teaching in school. I was lucky enough not to have one, and you were too. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I don't think religion in schools should be abolished, though, just put off until the kids are old enough to shape their own opinions on matters, and then given a choice of whether or not they care enough to learn about it. I was smart enough as a teen to realize which passages were not to be taken seriously. Not so much at age 7.

Even if these things haven't been declared by a god per-se, they're still from the holy book and some dumb fuck can still fall back on stupid passages like these (or worse ones) for an excuse to express his ignorance and bigotry.
