No idea. Don't read Spider-Man, but I can relate if they were to do this with the characters I do read. Nothing wrong with diversity, it's just when you make it so blatant that's the only reason you're doing it that readers start having a problem...

oh, and made Spider-Man half hispanic, half black, and gay... like they're going through a checklist that seems to lack a weirdly shaped eyes group.

wait they did that? haha holy shit that's something else. how'd he get superpowers? if he got bit as well, then that should mean theres a group of spidermen and women based on statistics

I wasn't looking for it specifically, just trying to find a rhyme or reason for this. Not sure if you can tell by my first comment, but I highly doubt I showed any signs of being genuine about this...
On the other hand, the more I think about it, given the context of a harshly inclusive society we've got going on, I'm actually now surprised to realize how little of that effort was put into the chinks. I'm not angry about it, happy, or anything, just a little surprised. We live in the same world where they changed Thor's gender to cater to a niche audience and pissing off their loyal readers keeping them in business, yet I cannot think of one Asian superhero in this boom of comic book movies we've experienced...

15% still sounds like a big number to me... maybe it's me trying to figure out why this post exists, and partially this PC world where everyone is represented, but it's strange how big of an effort they're doing to include other demographics yet seemingly none to this other group...

15% was a generous number. i added the 5% asian only and 10% non-specified mixed race.
This post is most likely a joke, catering to chinese internet users. that @ tag at the bottom of each pic is probably the twitter/weibo of whoever photoshopped these. probably no bullshit hidden "PC" meaning that you're trying your hardest to look for, just some good ol' fashioned humor similar to posts like "actors/actresses look-alikes if a cartoon show was live action"

don't people with an Asian decent make up a good portion of the US population (who's main export is entertainment) or has that changed since the states locked up a bunch of them in concentration camps?
User avatar #37 - pedokuma (05/21/2015) [-]
yeah but those people are americans. they live in US so they follow the culture there.

also what you think is a good portion is at most 15%, and only a very niche group are into comic books.
