No offense taken. This seems to be the general view of America around the world. While some Americans might be more vocal about it patriotism, we are actually much more accepting of others cultures than most countries I've been to. Hell, half of our population are immigrants to the US, and half of them are illegal.
I would honestly say the most "patriotic"(for lack of a better word in this instance) are the English. This goes back to the start of this thread. Every Englishman I've ever met is under the impression that every Englishman is perfect, simply because they are English. Anyone other than an Englishman is wrong from birth, plain and simple. They may not be as vocal about it as some other counties, but they are by far the most arrogant, and intolerant about it. Hell, you live next door to the limey bastards!! I'm sure you've seen it even more than I have. Then again, maybe not, as every time I am there, I get treated as a rabid, vicious, caveman who had the misfortune of being born in America. And I have been told that, almost word for word.

thank you for not taking offense and i admit you are probably right about the English being "patriotic"(sarcasm). I just speak from my experiences.
Every Englishman legitimately thinks (and i have been told this word for word) that "All Scots wear kilts and eat haggis neps and tatties for breakfast lunch and dinner, all the same thay are. Every one of 'em goes about shaggin' their sheep and cummin in their sisters."(As said by a Londoner in a bar before he heard my Scottish accent, after which he shut the fuck up)

Have to disagree there. I've been all over the world, spent a lot of time in other countries, and every country has their own share of die hard patriots. The media in other countries make America seem that way, but it is just a small population that is truly like that.
It amazes me the bad press that America gets in other parts of the world. We are all not gun toting, fat, lazy, self righteous assholes with an American flag wrapped around ourselves. For the most part, Americans are just like every other county I have been to.
#1765 - paulm (09/28/2011) [-]

Then my apologies good sir. My only intent was to insult or offend the English. My father is Scottish, so there will be no laughing a Scotland.

Actually, it is impossible to reason with a Brit, period. You all seem to think that everything you say or do is the correct way, and everyone else in the world is wrong. You don't even realize how much the rest of the world laughs at you. On a world scale of shitty people, you rate just above rapists, and just below the French.

*Impossible to reason with an Englishman

1. I am not generalising, i don't mean all Americans, i just mean the overly patriotic ones that think that if you don't like America then you should be killed.
2.I am SCOTTISH. I wouldn't call myself British if i had Chuck Norris telling me to do it
3. The Scottish and the French are actually old friends (google "The Auld Alliance.)
4.I accept that people, British English or otherwise, can be wrong and I personally( I can't speak for all Scots ) accept that i am wrong quite alot and that sometimes i can be a douche.
5.People only laugh at Scotland due to our high crime and teen pregnancy rates but(not trying to be a douche here just saying)Americas' rates are much higher in both subjects.

DISCLAIMER:this was not written with the intent to insult or offend anyone

It was a retaliation of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. If they had left us alone, there wouldn't have been a problem. As soon as they did it, they knew they fucked up. I've been to the Hiroshima memorial, and the whole undertone to it is "we shouldn't have pissed off the Americans. They did what was right". Everybody knows that. Fail on your part.

I never said it didn't happen, faggot, I was the one who mentioned it in the first place, it's just that your view that the bombing of a single MILITARY base entirely justifies killing hundreds of thousands of civilians by dropping WMDs on city centres makes you sound just a little too much like a terrorist.
User avatar #1788 - cuntpunter (09/29/2011) [-]
It's not my view of what happened, dumbass, that is history. It is a FACT that the Japanese knew they screwed up with the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It is a FACT that the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were in retaliation of this act. It is a FACT that the Japanese admitted that the bombing of their country was a justified punishment for their unprovoked attack. It is history, not opinion you dumb shit. Open a fucking book once in a while, and you would know that this isn't my point of view, it is fact and history. So shut the fuck up about things you know NOTHING about, faggot little bitch.
User avatar #1790 - aerius (09/29/2011) [-]
I guess some some fucking people just don't understand justice or the value of life. Here's some advice: Come back when you're mature enough to understand that lives mean more than your petty patriotism. Alternatively, continue being an eagle-fellating faggot who believes his country can do no wrong because his world view is as narrow as a pinhead.
User avatar #1791 - cuntpunter (09/29/2011) [-]
You really don't know shit about shit, do you?? Again, I didn't state my opinion, I stated historical facts. But, I guess you are too fucking self righteous, and just too fucking stupid to understand the difference. Come back when you have a valid argument, you stupid fuck. Learn something for once in your life, and quite trying to blame other people for your own stupidity.

Then my apologies good sir. My only intent was to insult or offend the English. My father is Scottish, so there will be no laughing a Scotland.
But I still would not claim the French as a friend.
And as far as reasoning with a patriotic American, that simply goes for any patriotic person, no matter the county of origin.
#1756 - paulm (09/28/2011) [-]
i agree and am happy we've come to peaceful conclusion and though i agre with your thoughts on patriotic people, even obama has to admit that Americans are probably the most extreme patriots
User avatar #1757 - cuntpunter (09/28/2011) [-]
Have to disagree there. I've been all over the world, spent a lot of time in other countries, and every country has their own share of die hard patriots. The media in other countries make America seem that way, but it is just a small population that is truly like that.
It amazes me the bad press that America gets in other parts of the world. We are all not gun toting, fat, lazy, self righteous assholes with an American flag wrapped around ourselves. For the most part, Americans are just like every other county I have been to.
#1765 - paulm (09/28/2011) [-]
well then i am sorry if i offended you but i too have been around many countries and in my experience Americans have to be at the top of the extremists chart but once again, i am not generalising, i am just speaking of my experience
User avatar #1789 - cuntpunter (09/29/2011) [-]
#1795 - paulm (09/29/2011) [-]
thank you for not taking offense and i admit you are probably right about the English being "patriotic"(sarcasm). I just speak from my experiences.
Every Englishman legitimately thinks (and i have been told this word for word) that "All Scots wear kilts and eat haggis neps and tatties for breakfast lunch and dinner, all the same thay are. Every one of 'em goes about shaggin' their sheep and cummin in their sisters."(As said by a Londoner in a bar before he heard my Scottish accent, after which he shut the fuck up)

so english has a great number of its words that sound like french, italian, and spanish. All of those being based in latin. and english is germanic...

in proportion to the rest of the thousands of thousands of words in the english language a small proportion of those are latin based. The grammatical structure, word pronunciation etc mostly come from german. why do you think we don't have genders for objects like the latin based countries do?

bitch, don't mess with an english language student.
