load and reload werent that bad. they just had a really big sound change. when you really listen closley to some songs on load you can hear their old sound in it. And st. anger did indeed suck balls. i think the sound/ genre change is why people thought those albums sucked. i bet if metallica started out with load reload etc. and than changed to master of puppets kill em all and ride the lightning i bet the same thing would have happened. even though those albums were god. Thats why i think god exists. his name is Metallica

They still have skill in Load & Reload, but it's just not Metallica anymore when you change the sound so drastically. The only song that sounded Metallica off of those is King Nothing.
Also, what are your thoughts on Megadeth? I love both bands a lot, but I think I like Megadeth more.

megadeth is really good. they have kept the same sound throughout their career. Personally, i think James Hetfield is a 978192845 times better singer than Dave, but i hate megadeth fans that hate on metallica because they think just cause dave mustaine got kicked out that they are the best metal band ever.but there are some normal fans that like megadeth but also like metal meaning they like metallica, overkill, mastodon and shit like that and they dont waste their time ranting on a band with the same genre when really we should all be together as one genre and destroy gay stuff like justin bei- i cant even type his name right now cause i hate him so much. But i think you get what im saying.

Yeah, I totally understand where you're coming from. I love Megadeth for the same reasons that you stated. James is by far the better singer, but Dave's voice is a large part of what make's Megadeth what it is. Also, Chris Broderick can play circles around Kirk Hammet. I like Kirk & respect his talent. But Chris has so much more skill than Kirk does.
However, they're both great. I've never been one to hate on bands just because of their infighting or who was kicked out.

Kirk is just an average guitar player. Nothing really special.

Actually, I think Dave might be better than James. I've heard a few guitarists I know say that he is. I personally don't know though.
Haha, Lars & Shawn are both terrible drummers. Also just my opinion, but when I compare them to Chris Adler or Jimmy Sullivan, they pale in comparison.
Dave is better than Rob. I know because my best friend plays bass & has told me so. Neither Rob nor Dave are better than the mighty Cliff Burton though.

That is true. Cliff i think is the greatest bassist ever. Deffinitally the low point of metallica was when he died. just to think of what they could have been if he never did. They would probably still be considered the greatest thrash metal band ever.

Probably. There is only one other bassist I know who can even come close to how good a bassist Cliff was & that's Johnny Christ from A7X. People can hate on A7X as much as they like, but they cannot deny that all of them have serious skill in their respective instruments.

i know. mike portnoy is amazing but not as good as the rev. like i think he way overdid the bass drum on like "save me". (most underrated song on the album but i think its the best)

They have a new guy who has replaced Mike though. His name is Arin something. He's more like the Rev in his style. Not a replacement, but possibly the second best thing.
