Average tennis player/actor. Commited Christian, not informed enough politically to determine which political group I'm in. If you know me, I either really dislike you, am really awkward around you, or you're one of my best friends. Into Pokemon, on that board anyways, and I really like the Joker. That about sums it up.

Yeah its pretty awesome. Only thing I havent liked so far is the season with the leviathans. Found it kinda underwhelming.

Thank you. It's just I don't think I am good enough for him. I am working out and clearing my face to make myself more appealing for him. I just can't see myself telling him how I feel because I don't want him to stop talking to me. I just get lost in his smile. I really strive into making him laugh and feel so accomplished when I do. I am pretty sure he thinks I am dorky because whenever I answer questions in class or he catches me blowing at my hair he laughs at me. Is their a way to be subtle about liking him? I know it's not good to be straight forward but I really am not confident enough to just tell him my feelings. I have always asked previous boyfriends out and they all ended up dating me because they wanted a girlfriend and it really hurts. I want him to like me because he likes me not because he feels bad for me or he just wants a girl friend if that makes sense.

Don't undersell yourself. You reflect how you feel inside on your outside. If he thinks you're not good enough for him, he's not worth your time, not vice versa. At the same time, be you. Don't mold yourself to conform to what he wants personality-wise, because then he doesn't like you, but rather who you think he wants to like. At the same time, there's nothing wrong with working out more and cleaning yourself up a bit, so kudos to you for finding a reason to take care of yourself.

You sound like a caring, full-hearted girl who genuinely wants to make him happy. He can't ask for much more than that in a partner.

Now to address the dorkiness... I personally like a bit of dorkiness in a girl, and I'm pretty sure that a good chunk of FJers agree with this.

Thanks :) I really hope he does enjoy dorky because dorky is what I am. My science teacher even called me that, she wasn't mean about it though. Everyone in the class I am in him with calls me a nerd and not in the good kind of nerd way, the stop answering the questions in class kind of way. I only answer the questions because no one knows the answers and my math teacher looks at me because she knows that I know it. Also, I don't fake myself, I just am changing what I can, like my weight. I am not obese but I want to be skinnier just because it is more attractive. He smiles a lot when I talk to him. Is that good? I also don't know what he thinks about me being in math and science club. Would you consider that a bad thing? Sorry if I am bothering you with questions and thanks for taking the time to answer mine. I am just very scared and nervous when I am around him sometimes. Today he called me out on messing with my hair and laughed. I don't know if that was a good thing though.

Well, skinny =/= attractive. You can be attractive and skinny, but one does not imply the other. You have to figure out what looks best on you.

Smiling's good, especially if he's the "I hate everyone" type.

You're not him. Of course you don't know what he thinks. However, unless you being in these clubs somehow got between you two, why would he complain? It's just something you do, just like there's things he probably does.

I'm not him, but sometimes teasing is affectionate. I do it, my father does it, and we can't be the only ones. You'll find out if you bring up your feelings with him. If he's calling out something as trivial as fiddling with your hair, it might be that he thinks it's cute. Or not. Only one way to find out.
#57783 - anon (03/06/2013) [-]
Thank you so much. I will play with my hair tomorrow to see if he says something again. You guys helped me so much. I sure hope he doesn't check this board and see my post, he would knows its me. I guess it would be a good way to tell him my feelings. Then again he would also know my plan...oh well. Again, thanks so much for the advice. I might try to tell him my feelings once I feel comfortable with myself.

#57785 - Zarke (03/06/2013) [-]
Haha, don't force the hair fiddling. Just pay attention if you find yourself doing it again.
#57788 - anon (03/06/2013) [-]
Lucky for me I do it often. My awkwardness all seems to make him laugh. Yay for being weird. Thanks for the advice. Better help than any of my friends could give me. ^.^

I had the same issue last year: either join the football team or be stage manager for the one act play. I played football sophomore year and wasn't that great at it. I was stage manager junior year and I had everything organized so well that we were state runner ups. Senior year I decided to go for football again, I was a lot better from sophomore year but still not great, and when I heard that one act didn't even make it to state that year, I had wished I went out for that instead. I could have helped a lot more in the play than I did on the football team. Don't get me wrong though, I loved playing on the team and I loved my teammates

I'm a bit biased being an actress and active in my school's theater program, but I would go with the play. You have no idea how much fun being involved in the production of the play is until you experience it, just trust me on this.

Oh, I do. I'm currently in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and it's a freaking blast. I was just wondering on whether or not to choose it over my "favorite" sport. But thanks for your input!
#57758 - anon (03/06/2013) [-]
Go with the play and if they can't cast jump to JV. I really don't know any other way to go about this. Either will look good on college applications.
