Average tennis player/actor. Commited Christian, not informed enough politically to determine which political group I'm in. If you know me, I either really dislike you, am really awkward around you, or you're one of my best friends. Into Pokemon, on that board anyways, and I really like the Joker. That about sums it up.

It's what Sony is planning to use to play PS3 games on the PS4, it's a service that streams the game to your console whilst being processed in a remote location. It's a great idea really, I think it's what OnLive tried to do but failed at because it was expensive and they had nothing to fall back on.

Just because you like something is an incredibly stupid reason to believe in something, I would like to believe that dinosaurs like the Velociraptor still exist but it doesn't mean that the idea is any more valid whether I like it or not.

I don't believe for a second that you have ever looked at a new born baby, which is an amazing thing, and thought "this deserves pain and torture". Perhaps I have made your mistake and I don't believe it because I don't want to, but I don't think it is natural to have such a gross mentality. I suppose I just hope that you are not so evil.

The whole Jesus thing is just as ridiculous. God already took away most of the laws of the Old Testament, all he had to was take away one more, the idea of sacrifice and he wouldn't have had to torture anyone. Yet he said "no,no, that would be boring, someone has to be tortured, I'll do it to my child. They will make films about it in the future, it will be a good publicity stunt"
I will never benefit from the torture of any innocent human.

This idea is exactly why I cannot stand the Abrahamic religions.

They convince you that you are broken, when you are anything but. They say you are damned and condemned to suffering because of some intangible stain on a 'soul' you never had. They tell you that it is wrong to be a human, that you deserve to have horrible things happen to you because you exist. And when the preacher is done whipping you with the stick of self-loathing and hellfire, he offers the carrot of Heaven. So long as you believe this and do that and give us money, you will be saved from that horrible fate you deserve because supposedly your ancestors disobeyed an arbitrary command from Sky Daddy.

You are better than you think you are. You do not deserve punishment for being a person, for acting in accord with your nature. Observe the universal Golden Rule, to treat others as you wish to be treated, and everything falls into place. If everyone could do that, the human race would be so much better off.

Try telling me you've never sinned. I dare you.

Sidenote: "Sky Daddy" is an awesome name for God. Thank you for that.

I have never sinned. Ever.

Wanna know why? Because a sin is a transgression against divine law, law which I do not believe in. Sin is a construct of religion. The very idea exists solely to control you.

I have performed immoral actions, and I do not like that I did. But just as I have done bad things, I have also done good things. I have given food to the hungry, shelter and clothes and money to those who have none, and hope to those who would have ended the one life they have if someone did not step forward.

I am a person. Good and bad. Right and wrong. And I do not deserve eternal punishment because I refuse to believe in the folk tales of ancient desert people.

Sin is sin, regardless of whether or not you believe in God. The thing I don't like about the type of atheist you are is that you have this strange preoccupation with criticizing a God you don't believe in. I won't accuse you of attributing your lack of faith to your disapproval for God's methods, because I'm sure you'll deny that that's the reasoning, but I will say that it's a silly thing with which to concern yourself.

Yes, sin is sin. Except I am of the opinion that sinning is impossible, because it is defined as a transgression against a divine law. Except the one that created that divine law does not exist, and therefore neither does the law. I can't break laws that do not exist, therefore my number of sins is zero. Perhaps I wasn't clear about that.

I'll pretend you didn't tacitly accuse me of being an atheist because it's rebellious by claiming you wouldn't do so, and just answer your argument anyway. I don't disapprove of God's methods. I don't believe God exists. My problem is with the methods of people who claim to speak for him.

I disagree with the idea that others can atone for your crimes, as was attributed to Christ's sacrifice. I disagree with the idea that the sins of the father become the sins of the son, as in the case of original sin. I disagree with the idea that finite transgressions deserve eternal punishment.

I disagree with the idea that for thousands of years, God looked down on the suffering and plagues and famines and wars and did nothing, then decided 2000 years ago that we'd had enough and sent our salvation to the less literate parts of the Middle East to be slaughtered so we'd all be free of a sin God condemned us to in the first place.
