Actually since I graduated high school I haven't done much with it, but I'll tend to look up tutorials on youtube. And yes it is very kickass. :3

How is your experience playing in an orchestra? What is the atmosphere generally like?

Its kinda unfortunate because euphoniums are gods of the band but then bitches of the orchestra. I mainly pick up trombone or tuba parts because the majority of orchestra pieces i am slated to play have no euphonium parts.

I see your predicament. This also frustrates me greatly. Hate when beautiful instruments are put to one side because they have a certain sound. It has to happen a lot of the time, but it still frustrates me :P I had a big paragraph written out to say what I've done, but I'll just do my own quiz instead :P

Haha, no sir I do not! I've never actually touched the internet when it came to recorder, so i'm in the dark about anything else out there :)

But seriously i'd love to hear that :O When people stereo-type ANY instrument as a kiddy's instrument it does anger me because it's an INSTRUMENT and there is no kiddy part about an instrument. Not unless one of our very small bar gigs was recorded on a cell phone and uploaded to the nether reaches of youtube somewhere. Also we broke up a long time ago because 2 of us (myself included) had to move away. It was fun though because we got into bars at like 16 to play shows.

I not too great at guitar to do any solo work. I mean when I'm in a band, it's mostly just chords and stuff with a small solo or two to fill up the song. I'm not really good enough to hold my own by myself, like those guys who can do like 10 minutes of pure soloing. But if I start/join a new band in college, I'll put some videos up.

Oh I get you! An instrumentalist :) Do you play any classical? That'd be worth uploading solo-wise!

I play some classical on Trumpet but I much prefer jazz.

Oh great! My grandad actually is the trumpet player in the Cork City Jazz Band, so I've grown up hearing him play it a lot, and seriously it sounds immense!

And what is it you generally do when playing jazz, cover songs? Or play around a key? Or both :P

I usually improvise to a backing track. Sometimes I'll do covers, but improv is where all the fun is at.

Yessss, that's what I love to hear :D I was going to ask have you ever considered busking with one of your instruments, but I can see how seperately, they would be quite impractical for public use :L

I used to bum around malls and play my acoustic guitar to make money to go buy new equipment and games, but eventually I realized I was stealing business from the performers who were homeless so I got a job instead.

Hahahaha, that has to be the funniest thing i've heard in a while :L (Not in a bad way :P)

Personally though, I wouldn't let it get to me! In Cork City the whole place is packed with buskers regardless, so if some of them are homeless, well they have to work harder for their cash and that's just the way it is here :P

I just felt bad because I can play guitar moderately well, whereas most of the homeless players just started and had no idea what they were doing so I got more business.

Oh haha I see. There's no real "bad" buskers here, the homeless guys are the most experienced and often best, so the rest of us don't feel bad competing :P

One or two of the guys here are amazing. One guy can do Haydn's Trumpet Concerto from memory, but nobody plays near him 'cause he gets all the money :P
