I guess my standard for RPG has been heightened so much by morrowind and oblivion, that to me skyrim seems like shit. But I guess we shouldn't compare the 5th game in a successful series with the game that came just before it, no matter how many things it does better.

...actually, Wait, no. Even if we took skyrim and ignored all the other elder scrolls games, its still a very linear and handholding RPG, with very little replayability. So yeah, even if skyrim was a standalone with no successful games under its name and nobody had any expectations of what it was gonna be like or what they wanted in it, it would still be a shit RPG.

And why is linearity a bad thing? There is no time constraint.

I can literally bugger around in Dwemer ruins using only my fists to beat the shit out of automatons for 45 hours and get in no problem.

I can chase an Ancient Dragon for 2 with only two bronze daggers.

I can ONE SHOT a damn ancient dragon using sneak and two iron daggers. (Actually did happen. It was fucking funny. Jumped on his back. Did a double swipe, maximum multipliers plus the strongest Iron Dagger possible. He jumped off the ground, flapped, and then tumbled to the ground.)

nobody's complaining about that, you moron

>I can literally bugger around in Dwemer ruins using only my fists to beat the shit out of automatons for 45 hours and get in no problem.
i like how oblivion and morrowind both had a skill that governed how effective your fists are in combat, and skyrim doesnt. and in those games you actually had to be high level to pull off shit like that

>I can chase an Ancient Dragon for 2 with only two bronze daggers.
i dont see how that proves your point, assuming you have one. you can pretty much chase any creature in any rpg game ever with daggers. however, no elderscrolls game to date has bronze daggers, so theres something. but im still not seeing the point

where is the point? im still not seeing it

as if any of those things cant be done in morrowind or oblivion, besides those games doing it better (with the exeption of the dragon part. and the dual wielding, which is honestly superficial)

I don't know why you immediately drop into calling me a moron. Especially after deleting a comment.

It's a game. Just because it is not a game you played before, doesn't mean it is terrible. More stats doesn't mean better.

It's just afucking game, and the fact that you call me a moron for simply playing devil's advocate is sad.

i have played 200 hours of skyrim, actually, i know a fair bit about it. and stats doesnt make it better, true. but it gives the game a sense of progression. you arnt the worst or the best at everything right from the start with no hope of improvement. a if a game gives you the ability to improve your fist fighting skill, it leting you do that is automatically better than the game making fists not effective at all with no hope of improving it. in morrowind and oblivion you can build your character completely around the hand-to-hand skill, but in skyrim your fists are always equally effective with the exception of a pair of unique gloves, which are just a novelty and you cant actually develop a play style around it , in that senario, morrowind is better because it gives you the option of improving, whereas in skyrim its removed completely. stats dont inherently make something better, but they give you a sense of progression, and the very presence of a stat instantly gives you more options on how to progress, and having a stat there is always better than it not being there at all

RPGs like Skyrim, Morrowmind, Oblivion and such are all about finding your own fun.

Like in Oblivion, I made a character with so much Acrobatics.

It was funny just bounding away like a fucking rabbit.
User avatar #51 - garylol (04/07/2015) [-]
and skyrim gives you less opertunities to make your own fun, because it has less stats and less freedom

"unlimited"
They actually have a relatively limited lineup but it's constantly growing. Crunchyroll is a really big name that most if not all anime fans know of. They are actually a source of legal streaming since they acquire the rights from the anime studios themselves. The monthly fees just give you access to some content, like episodes that aired less than a week ago, or very long running series with hundreds of episodes for the most part.
