I do too. Unlike what most people think, there's an overwhelming amount of statistical evidence to suggest that organic is healthier. It just doesn't have more vitamins and minerals than conventional, but organic has a lot less of other harmful substances like pesticides, artificial growth hormones, and antibiotics... People claim to believe in science, but ignore all the evidence there is that organic is healthier... smh

1. Pesticides don't get absorbed INTO the plant WTF!
2. Growth hormones don't matter since they are hormones of plants, would not affect your body, and are destroyed in your stomach anyway!
3. Antibiotics don't get put in plants?
4. GMO's do not have things injected into them just their DNA is modified to produce more product.

Oh yeah, and I'd rather eat the fucking apple sprayed with pesticides than the one that fucking produces them through genetic modification

What's wrong with genetic modification? That's what evolution is. This is how we made so many kinds of dogs, the only way to make bananas and citrus fruit, and it's the only thing used in cancer treatment....

I like the idea, like if they only modified the plant to be bigger and more nutritious, like that one guy did with the rice, but when you make it so it naturally produces a toxin that is harmful to humans, that's just the wrong direction.
#73 - culedood (05/25/2015) [-]
Ok that poison was an act of terrorism. Are you talking about ricin? If not what toxin?

The hormones for every organism is different. Unless you're a chicken or cow (even then it would be destroyed in your stomach) I'm not too worried. Also gmo's are the entire topic of this post.
I have a masters degree in chemical biology, I think I know what' I'm talking about.

I literally never said anything about GMOs, this was a discussion of organic vs conventional, nothing to with GMOs, at least not what I have been responding to.

According to the USDA, organic foods must be grown and processed in the absence of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides, and and CANNOT BE GENETICALLY MODIFIED. Conventional is almost ALWAYS genetically modified, unless you're talking about pineapples, almonds, cashews, or other nuts.

>already buys organic products
