I originally made an account for nsfw, but I am long past that. So it wouldn't hurt even if it did ban me. Even still though, I never intentionally try to get red thumbs.

#110 - ookichinchindesu (12/21/2013) [-]
Not really the "baiting" type ^-^ My opinions are largely detested on this website.
#99 - ookichinchindesu (12/21/2013) [-]
Haha wow so much butthurt. Oh well nothing to do about it. I didn't mean lets chop more trees down, i only meant we will be safe we have enough trees for now, esp with ones we are planting. But I stand by what I said. <3
#36 - anonymous (12/20/2013) [-]
Why are you idiots thumbing him down? He's right, you guys would know if you actually did a little research for once. But oh wait this is FJ, you guys never do any real research. You just get all your info from pictures captioned with a fun "fact".
#34 - anonymous (12/20/2013) [-]
Unless someone like you gives a whole lot of fucks, nothing's going to get better. Which sucks.
#29 - newdevyx (12/20/2013) [-]
More trees is always better.
User avatar #31 - schneidend (12/20/2013) [-]
Except when those trees are in the way of a new building that could employ or house hundreds, if not thousands, of people.
User avatar #50 - heartlessrobot (12/20/2013) [-]
So, you're willing to eradicate thousands of species of animals just so we can put more people there, even though it would be better to build upwards instead of outwards?
User avatar #55 - schneidend (12/20/2013) [-]
When did I say anything about eradicating any animals species? There is such a thing as responsible development.

Building upwards sadly isn't practical or desirable in every community.
User avatar #56 - heartlessrobot (12/20/2013) [-]
Deforestation is not only destroying species but already has. We've driven many to the brink of extinction already.
User avatar #58 - schneidend (12/20/2013) [-]
It's entirely possible to deforest an area at a rate and with practices that minimize the ecological impact. I can assure you that the neighborhood that recently went up near mine didn't cause any extinctions.
User avatar #59 - heartlessrobot (12/20/2013) [-]
I don't mean locally, I'm talking about the razing of rain forests and shit.
User avatar #60 - schneidend (12/20/2013) [-]
Another thing I didn't mention.
User avatar #61 - heartlessrobot (12/20/2013) [-]
You also didn't specify local.
User avatar #62 - schneidend (12/21/2013) [-]
Which of course means I support mass deforestation?
User avatar #64 - heartlessrobot (12/21/2013) [-]
If you think accommodating a population growing out of control is more important than keeping wilderness, then that's exactly what it's telling me.
User avatar #65 - schneidend (12/21/2013) [-]
The fact that I mentioned responsible development ages ago probably should have clued you in.
#27 - kanedam (12/20/2013) [-]
are you trolling or serious?

Uh what? Can I get that in english? Were you quoting the above or is that your opinion? That there is no such thing as a good person, even if you only do good deeds and live your life for the sole purpose of helping the people in need?

Not sure what's left to explain O.o ...but okay. I was quoting anything, that was just me typing my thoughts. When I say fact by faith, I mean that I consider my Christian (filthy rags, quoted from the bible) comment fact because I believe it to be so (faith).

I've heard the Flood Theory before, and I actually think you raise an interesting point. The words in the Bible (which i have partly read, I think I got through the Old Testement and a third of the new Testement before my attention was driven elsewhere) can actually coincide with some natural events, one of which is the theory that there WAS a great flood, which would wipe out an awful lot of animals. I think it was the creation of the Dead Sea that caused one flood, but don't quote me on that.

The only issue is that we have Carbon dating as a reliable method of testing how old something is, and these fossils register in the millions when it comes to years. Do I know how it all works? No, I'm not a scientist, but I do believe in the theory that the Earth is billions of years old, that evolution is what has brought us here to this day. I've arrived to that conclusion on my own, through my own experiences and observations, as I'm sure you've settled in your beliefs in that same way.

Honestly I don't have an issue with any religion (unless it directly harms others, like the Westboro Baptist Chruch), you can believe whatever you desire because I know I could be wrong in my own beliefs and I accept that.

As long as a believer and an atheist can still look at a sunset and marvel at how beautiful the world is, regardless of who or what created it, I'm a happy man.

As I've done before in a previous conversation, I wont thumb you down because, you know, your opinion and such.

It is real evidence, you can look, touch, even taste (if you're into licking fossils) all the evidence that proves evolution is real. Fossil evidence has shown a general trend in animals throughout Earth's history, from Ammonite fossils (I own one of them, it's incredible to look at) and sea snails to the leg of a T-Rex and Ostrich legs. Evolution is all around us, it's nearly undeniable.

You can even see it in modern animals today. There's a species of lizard somewhere (I forget where exactly) that is midway through this phase. There are lizards that survive in sunlight, their bodies well adapted to living in the open, while a new sub-species is being created that is adapting to live in caves, each generation improving that aspect of their biology. Humans have done nothing to cause this, it's a natural process that we've simply stumbled upon, thought "shit that's cool" and studied.

In my opinion you can believe in evolution and God, the two don't have to be seperate. I encountered a great person who believed that, while science can explain everything, a higher power created the science, worked reality to create such wonderful things. In essence, God created the Big Bang that kickstarted the universe.

Personally I can't believe in a higher power until I experience it for myself, that's just how I am, but that doesn't mean I don't see the beauty in religion and respect those that believe.
#830 - ookichinchindesu (11/30/2013) [-]
Okay! I read the rest, I am a bible believing Christian, so from my point of view if God wanted to create us that way he could have, but the bible does not support evolution. I don't take it out of context or assume that days 1-6 are "thousands of years" because it says right before the seven day bit that a day was the sun rising and setting. (24 hrs) To me that is seven literal days and I believe we were created immediately. You are so kind! Thank you for not telling me to kill myself (:

I have read all of your stuff yet, but I will. I would like to say though that I do think micro evolution is a thing (adaptation?) but not the big bang evolution if you will. I am not saying fossils aren't real ^-^ I just think they are there because of the flood and the amount of animals that died that were covered with mud as a result.
