I do, well I used to... I can't afford to buy my own, but I used to play bassoon. How long have you played? :)

I use my high school's bassoon. It's an old Fox Renard, a PVC one. -_- Regardless, I love it. I plan on getting one before college.

Sweet :D I played for three years before I was forced to choose a different instrument, we ended up having too many bassoonists during my sophmore year in hs (go figure) I used the school's bassoon also, though I don't remember the make... But I do remember that it was a wooden bassoon that I got to play. I'd plan on getting one before college but I'm already there so I plan on getting one after I join the Navy. Wow, this is a long comment XD I miss playing bassoon, I can hardly wait to get me very own ^_^

Major jelly! I want a new bassoon sooo bad. Hoping to get one soon, before college. :) Yeah, I can't go too long without playing... I like it too much.
Long comments are cool anyway. :P And I'm sure the Navy would love a bassoonist of its very own.

I'm sure they would too, but I have been out of practice now for about three years and so I would need some Bb major practicing to even consider trying to get into the Navy's band, though that would be sooo awesome :D I'm actually trying to get in as a mechanic in one of their multiple mechanical jobs

Ah, good point. Well, I hope you get a bassoon really soon so you can get back into the wonderful instrument. :)

Thanks :D I really want to get in working on some sort of automotive repair work, maybe as a diesel mechanic, or possibly as a jet mechanic, but my first choice would definitely be as an automotive mechanic

I've had an account on here for almost three years now and you're the first person to ask if I really do play bassoon.... I just realized that right now... o_o

Hahah, I've only had an account for about two months (I was an anon before that for a looooong time).
I'm glad I asked, though- I like knowing that I actually do have bassoon brethren. :)

Same here (on both parts for the most part) XD It sucks that there are so few bassoon players, and that it is such a widely unknown instrument to the general public, it's always a good thing to meet a fellow bassoonist ^_^

Wow, that sucks :( Hopefully people will get it together soon and realize the obvious big difference between the oboe and bassoon :/ But, unfortunately, I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon :( My non-band friends always thought the same thing, until i showed them what a bassoon looks like

I think I should just strap it to my back and attach a sign that says THIS IS A BASSOON, NOT AN OBOE. haha

If you do that, you should totally take a picture and post it or something XD That would be awesome :) I also play bass guitar and I have an acoustic-electric Ibanez 4 string and I was hanging at the beach with some friends just noodling on it and some random passer-by asked me what it was and all I could think was "do you seriously not know what a bass guitar looks like...?" It was so funny, and weird... and random XD

I'm going to do it now. Hahah! I'll do it in study hall tomorrow and hopefully get it up soon.
yeah, I also play flute, percussion, alto, tenor, and bari sax, piano, and I sing. Thankfully, most people know what the rest are. :)

FunnyJunk wont let me reply to your last comment for some stupid reason... >_> Music was the same way with me too, I started on the guitar (which didn't really get very far) then moved on to bassoon then bass and tuba and now back to guitar with the rest of them XD That would be totally awesome to sing together sometime, I don't really have anyone to sing with here, aside from just by myself T.T I honestly don't know what life would be like without knowing how to play instruments XD Music DEFINITELY is life, no matter how many instruments one plays :) So I think the more instruments that you know how to play makes you have MORE of a life rather than less of one :D
