I'm not mad they had the dog in there, no one got hurt. But he's not an uncultured swine for thinking of the dog's safety.

Actually he DID have a choice.

not the point, the point was that he went through all that shit, meaning his tolerance level should be well above average but he couldnt be married for more than 6 months, its like when you taste something god awful for the first time and you suddenly realize, hey that shit I dont like, its pretty good compared to this
#30 - psykobear (08/10/2014) [-]
It really is the point. They are saying marriage is worse that the prison experience because he had more tolerance for prison than for her. There is no way to know how much tolerance he had for prison, because it's not like he could walk out of there. I'm sure if he could have divorced the prison in 6 months, he would have.

It is the point, he didn't have a CHOICE to be tortured and beaten. I sure if he had had the choice to not be beaten, he would have chosen that route

The other posts are accurate, but if you need credit to buy something, like a car, you can have you parents co-sign with you, and it will help build your credit as long as you make the payments, and you make them on time. A much easier and cheaper way to build credit is just to go to your bank and ask them how to build your credit.
They should have a program where they like, "loan" you your own money, and you make monthly payments on it, and this establishes credit.
I'm 26 and I have no credit cards.
#31 - citruslord (08/10/2014) [-]
#6 is right, along the lines of ever needing a loan. There are alot of people that preach against the taking of any sort of loans, as they only ever benefit banks. So if you live smart, and save for things like car/home it's possible to never need the loan, and therefore never need the credit rating. It really is quite a shitty system, and an entirely unnecessary one.
#16 - alexanderh (08/10/2014) [-]
Where do you live? If in the US, #6 is probably absolutely correct. I wouldn't know, because I don't live there.
But if you live in Europe, credit ratings don't really exist, so there's no real reason to have a credit card, except for when you need a little extra money at the end of the month. There are a few places that don't accept debit, like restaurants, but it's getting less and less common.
So, if you live in Europe, sure. You can live a completely normal life without a credit card. You don't need a credit rating to apply for a loan, you just need to make sure you pay your loans back on time so you don't get blacklisted.

Yes and no. It makes it harder. For almost every type of purchase, a debit card is sufficient. But later on, when you want to buy a car or a house, you have to either save up the whole amount for the purchase, or apply for a loan. And if you've never had any sort of credit, you will be denied for house and car loans or given such exorbitant rates that you're bound to default on the loan. Credit cards are dangerous, but also the best way to build up a good credit report. I have three, and what I do with them is pay my bills with them, then on each one pay off all but 5 dollars of what I just charged. (Credit card companies like it when you let them earn a little interest off of you.) Then every year I pay off the remainder. I never use them for anything else, even in "emergencies." My credit score is 790, which is pretty good.
Anyway, as a 16 year old you have no need for a credit card. You could get one to start building credit now, but there's really no point yet.
#37 - paraplegicdinosaur (08/10/2014) [-]
You don't even get a "credit score" until you turn 18, anyway. I don't think a 16 year old can even get one under their name without their parents also putting their name on it.
Not sure if I'm 100% right, but when I signed up for my credit card, one of the questions was asking if I was at least 18.
