"THE AMERICAN WAY OF FREEDOME"
Yea bit of an exaggeration there. As a matter of fact I never got that impression watching the movie. Superman showed how scary life would be if heroes just up and killed villains as they pleased. Not sure where your getting 'MURICA from
"lets suddenly make the anti-heroes full villains for no damn reason"
They were always extremists, as shown when Black interrogated the terrorists and when the Elite fought the Pokolistani military
"let the evil guys who i don't care about think they beat him and then superman goes full 'MURICA ASS KICKING on them"
Personally, I thought it was pretty badass. Superman humiliated the Elite then sat them down and told them what they did wrong as if they were children. Like a boss
"fuck them, lets make superman remove their powers just because. hmm? why didn't he do that against other villains that has killed far more?"
Superman found out where the Elite got their powers and was able to counter their abilities
MB had a deformity in his brain which gave him his psychic abilities, so Superman used heat vision to remove it
Menagrie gets her powers from parasitic symbeasts. Superman used a poison that removed the symbeasts, thus disabling her
The Hat gets his magic powers from his hat. Superman created a whirlwind not only to separate Hat from his hat, but also to keep him from breathing
Coldcast was sucked into orbit, knocking him out. As far as the comics go, Coldcast did not get his powers removed, probably because there is no way to do so. Anyway, Coldcast became good later
Superman discovered the Elites weaknesses and used them to his advantage. Just because Superman found a way to disable one villains powers doesn't mean he can do so to other villains. In this case it had to do with their unique abilities

"ya think that the villains would have gotten death penalty anyway?"
Superman just depowered most of them and got done explaining why killing is not always right. Kind of undermines the message, not to mention would be kind of a dick move to Superman too
"yes, i know that we COULD make it a more moral ending with an actually thought provoking ending"
Well I personally really like the ending, especially Superman's speech about dreams too. Call it cheesy but I thought it was a nice message
"silly, everyone knows that superman has an army of super androids that he keeps in his crystal palace instead of helping the world, he would just use them to save everyone."
Kind of agree with you here. The robots were silly, but they kept and civilians from harm. Again, it showed how dangerous a hero like Superman can be if he decides to follow the Elites practices. The robots do have a purpose though, and they do save the day often. Part of the reason why no one expects Clark Kent to be Superman is because Clark is seen at times to be at the Daily Planet while a robot is saving the day disguised as Superman. And who do you think helps out when Superman is in space or doing Justice League stuff? Well that is until Superman got rid of them after fighting Dominus

I am definetly the minority, I prefer superman over batman. The first comic I read was action comics 772, or superman vs the elite and I loved it. I also thought the movie was great. I don't think the ending was screwing over the story. It was very believable that they would go evil, they were always right on the line. And at the end everything worked out like it was suppose to, it was a story about superman loosing his faith in humanity. Read a few more of his comics, they layer his character really well and give him alot of depth. His constant struggle to stay the good guy, his relation with lois lane, his friendship with character like batman, his tragedies. They all make for really awesome story telling.
