Shooting someone in the lower abdomen is incredibly dangerous, and life threatening. Arteries and veins branch out to each leg, and is almost impossible to put pressure on if they're struck.
Then there's the spleen, that if it ruptures leads to severe blood loss.
Not to mention the chance of blood poisoning, or hitting the intestines which will cause the gut to swell up and leave the victim in agonizing pain for 4 hours untill he dies.
The greatest chance of incapacitating a target without killing would be the center mass. However, that chance is exceptionally small, and a rightful man behind the gun will know that pulling the trigger will always be with an intent to kill.
Basically. As you can see in the video, the gunshot likely severed the femoral artery, meaning that this guy 10:1 bled out and died before the ambulance got to him.
Gut shots are alright, and they hurt like a bitch so you'll be down, but they can still do a good deal of damage depending on what they hit. If you're going to shoot someone to bring them down, shoot them in the foot. They still won't be able to walk, but there are no major arteries located within the foot. It's a harder target to hit, but it's the necessary one.
Otherwise, only use your weapon if you are willing to kill, because odds are that that's exactly what's going to happen when you pull that trigger.
There is a major artery that runs down the middle of the abdomen, if that gets nicked in any way it would most likely lead to death.
Same thing goes for the main artery on your inner thigh, but there is a better chance of survival obviously for the leg and even the possibility of using a Tourniquet.
Lol you've heard wrong there's bile in there and that is an incredibly painful way to die unless you get immediate treatment.
From what I understand there's a lot of shit in the gut area that if you get shot you're shit out of luck.
Getting shot at close range like that and not getting medical attention is pretty fucking dangerous and there's really no 'safe' way to shoot someone without killing them. If you don't want to kill somebody, don't shoot them.
How about right shoulder/breast?
Sub-clavian artery will probably be either hit or ruptured from the blast wave, that's the artery that if you stab someone in it they're unconscious in a second, and dead in a minute or so. Also if you manage to not destroy the sub-clavian or the axillary or the brachial arteries then you're probably causing major damage to the nerves there. As tandemwarelephant said, humans aren't really made to survive being shot, because guns are designed to kill, not wound.
That said, best spot to be shot is the ass, no major arteries and lots of muscle and fatty tissue to prevent too much damage to bones and shit. Just hope it doesn't hit your tailbone or taint.
Breast is risky because you can easily hit the lungs/heart, shoulders risky because you could easily hit the neck, head, or subclavian artery.
Let's just say that humans haven't adapted to be shot at yet.
Yeah, I mean most the shit in your body is pretty important so it's pretty much just not good when you punch a hole straight through it pretty much anywhere.
If you hit that large artery the person who got shot is just plum out of luck. Quite some big arteries in the abdomen all the same.
A leg artery is easier to compress should it get hit, provided there is someone who recognizes the situation, knows what they are doing and is able to act promptly. Better chances of survival i'd say.
