Not when politicians were being bribed to buy faulty submarines, and throw money around in order to keep the nation's wallet empty under orders from their foreign masters.
Greece was actually heading in a good direction with the dictatorshop in the early 70s, but that was wrecked by outside influence. It wasn't allowed to stand back up.

I repeat: Germany arbitrarily stopped paying its installments back in the 60s.
#98 - atomschlumpf (04/10/2015) [-]
Sigh Alright, since you still hold fast on this. Yes, the reparations were declared finished in the 60s. That's however not something Germany just did, that was agreed upon by multiple nations.
And the point that you got nothing? Yeah nah, you got 30.000 tons of material, machines and metal. And no, that's not something like "Yeah, have this shit". The reparations were agreed to be in material, since Germany had no real money. Of these 30.000 tons your country decided to just scrap around 18.500 tons instead of selling it off. And yes, there were very good offers for that stuff. That's your own damn fault.
Furthermore, there was a contract in 1960 upon which your country reveived 115 million Mark in war damages. And again your country agreed to this. And it also agreed that with this all reparations and war damages were settled.

But I bet you find again ways to twist this into your own stupid logic of muh monies.
#103 - jamestitkov (04/10/2015) [-]
No, the reparations were not "declared finished". You just stopped paying your denbts. Greece just didn't have the military or political means to demand more.
User avatar #108 - atomschlumpf (04/10/2015) [-]
Haha yeah nah. That might be what your propaganda feeds you. Do you know what 30.000 tons of machinery is actually worth? You didn't even lose your gold reserve (Aka what actually backs up the financial worth in your country)

Sure, the Nazis and Italians might have robbed and plundered but that was paid back in 30.000 tons of machinery and material plus 115 Million Mark later. Germany didn't just stop paying it's debt, everyone agreed upon it. Which you might have seen if you actually read my comment. Your country AGREED to it, it's in contract form. You can look it up, it's in black and white with a sign of your government of that time

User avatar #142 - nanako (04/10/2015) [-]
you mean they didn't have any fabricated genocide story to cry about.

The concept of war reparations are utterly illogical. After the war germany was divided into two parties,is economy destroyed, its people virtually enslaved. And then jewish america went on to beat the dead horse for decades

No matter what you believe hitler is responsible for, the german people are not him. the german government, then or now, is not him. Demanding reparations from someone's descendants is an absurd concept. and it pushes the dangerous notion that you did nothing wrong and your enemy is responsible for everything, which is provably false
#143 - jamestitkov (04/10/2015) [-]
We have a real one.

The concept of war reparations is politically agreed upon, your opinion hardly matters. See #69. And Germany is far freer than Greece, which is under economic tyranny and external control.

If you're trying to imply that when two countries invade a third one, which didn't have the military capability to take the offensive in that war, the third is somehow the bad guy, you need to read the last part of #139. Most of the massacred Greeks were civilians.
User avatar #144 - nanako (04/10/2015) [-]
no, you don't.

Your opinion is as relevant as mine, take that how you will.

Yes greece has damage, so does everywhere else. Dresden was firebombed, nagasaki and hiroshima were dusted. That's just history, it happens, and the responsible party does not exist anymore. Suck it up and recover

most of the massacred germans were civilians too. And russians, and italians, and chinese, and british. Surprisingly civilians are the main casualties of warfare, who knew?

nobody is the bad guy, it's a collection of modern countries who have moved on from history. Anyone who had a hand in damaging greece is not serving in the german government today
#145 - jamestitkov (04/10/2015) [-]
Yes, we do, there are eyewitness reports, books, and logistics on it, and you'll have a very hard time even trying to claim the opposite, not to mention looking very, very silly. I redirect you to #139.

The other countries that were damaged were not actively controlled and manipulated by others. And like the others, re-read #26 and #31. It's still Germany's responsibility.

The massacred German civilians have nothing to do with me, since it wasn't my country doing it. The massacred Greek civilians, however, were massacred by Germany, a huge percentage at least. And that's ignoring all the other damage.
User avatar #151 - nanako (04/10/2015) [-]
re: genocide. My apologies i thought we were talking about a different historical event. I withdraw that complaint. I don't know too much about the one in question, i will refrain from commenting unil i've researched the matter.

Other controlled countries were indeed controlled by other things. Quite notably germany was cut in two and used as everyone's football, american occupiers actively sought to destroy the local economy farther instead of repairing it.
#154 - jamestitkov (04/10/2015) [-]
Well I don't see Germany under anyone's control now, whereas Greece was never allowed to recover. Germany had the spoils of war, outside funding, and was free of the huge expenses it takes to maintain an army. Greece didn't have that.
User avatar #224 - ompalomper (04/10/2015) [-]
"whereas Greece was never allowed to recover"

greece had all the fucking time and opportunity in the world to shape up their economy to something that wasn't constantly dependent on loans to pay for their ridiculous retirements and their interest that piled up from their previous loans. they could have fixed their economy but chose not to, simple as that.

it is no ones fault but their own that they are about to go bankrupt.

HA you make it sound like the world is a just place, "simply not sign", yeah like that would be so simple, its like saying Ukraine should just slap Putin's hand and say 'naughty' about the whole annexing thing, remember how they were saying that Crimea wanted to get annexed :p I'm not going to say that Greece didn't dig its own hole here, the politicians were promised money, they got it then fucked off leaving us in the dust. The biggest issue is that we have had so much unrest, WW's Turkish occupation, the mass exchange of population with Turkey after that led to exponential inflation of unemployment and crime rates, Golden Dawn (and i dont mean the retarded nazi fucks we have now, i mean the political party that actually held a stake in the country), corrupt politicians and media, simply put Greece has become that weak kid who was invited to play on the football team only because the team needed more players to be able to play, serving as a shitty soaker with no understanding of the game.

Hooookay so... where to begin. The basis is that there are these lifeforms known as Gems, who are on Earth because of plot reasons - not going to spoil anything if I can help it unless you ask. So, of these Gems we see, there's a group known as the Crystal Gems - Garnet, Pearl, Amethyst; each has an actual gemstone on their body which is their namesake, and basically the core of their being.

Another of these Crystal Gems, one known as Rose Quartz, is the mother of the title character, Steven Universe. Due to some oddity about Gem / Human breeding, she needed to give up her own life and gemstone in order for Steven to exist. As a result, the rest of the Crystal Gems took it upon themselves to raise Steven, bring him in as one of their own, and train him in the use of his Gem powers.

A good majority of the show is focused on Steven learning how to harness his powers, interacting with townspeople, dealing with ancient Gem artifacts that are on Earth because of plot reasons, and interacting with the other Crystal Gems in a great variety of ways. Near.... about midway through the first season (which is 49 episodes long, mind you) a larger story arc beings to develop, but this only really becomes apparent toward the end of that season.

Season 2 is currently running, and it continues with that story arc.

If there's any more you want to know or something I seem to have left out, by all means ask away. I'll do my best to answer.

Ok so there's this race called "Gems". They're all female looking, and a few of them live on earth, protecting it from threats. The main character's name is Steven and he is half gem half human. His mom "died" to give birth to him so those other three gems raise him.

Are you sure? I've heard it's

%400 for great service
%300 for okay service
%200 for average service
%100 for bad service
%50 for horrible service
and %25 for no service
#67 - John Cena (04/08/2015) [-]
it's a penny for no service.
User avatar #27 - Bruda (04/07/2015) [-]
I was told the chart should be.

Excellent: 30%
Standard: 20%
Bad: 10%
#333 - John Cena (04/08/2015) [-]
I try to follow something similar, but since I don't have much myself I have to lower it a bit.
Excellent: 20%
Standard: 15%
Bad: 10%

If I have a waiter who is really just going above and beyond, I'll try give them more, but 20% is usually the most I can afford.
User avatar #326 - IamSofaKingdom (04/08/2015) [-]
If a 10% tip is "bad" then the system needs to removed immediately. They cannot legally make less than minimum wage (the employer must pay the difference if tips don't equal at least minimum) so the stigma that you are a bad tipper is just a ploy to make you pay them better than minimum wage for an entry level job. Giving them a 10% bonus for being bad is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.

I pay 10% if they did their job, checked on the table within reasonable wait times and didn't make it look like a chore.
User avatar #45 - iamnuff (04/08/2015) [-]
if the service is bad, why would you tip?

surely a tip should be a reward for good service?
User avatar #219 - sportsmaniac (04/08/2015) [-]
They still gave you a service, so they still deserve a tip. You just give them significantly less. 10% is enough to let them know that you're displeased with the service.

The only time you shouldn't tip is if the service is virtually nonexistent. This only happened to me once. They brought our drinks, then forgot about our table for an hour and a half. I had to get up and remind them to bring out our food and refill our drinks, which they did 45 minutes later. They didn't deserve one penny from me.
User avatar #295 - iamnuff (04/08/2015) [-]
They provided a service because it's their job, they're already getting paid by their employer, why should you pay them more for bad service?

I understand the whole "one penny tip for terrible service" thing though, that's to let them know that you DID remember, you just didn't want to give them anything.
#364 - John Cena (04/08/2015) [-]
they are *barely* getting paid by their employer. IMOPE my hourly wage didn't even fully compensate for the taxes takin out of my tips.
User avatar #365 - iamnuff (04/08/2015) [-]
While that's true, that's their bosses fault for paying them as little has he can legally get away with.

It's not your job to pay the wages of the restaurant staff, and if their service was bad, why would you do them any favours?
User avatar #28 - ompalomper (04/07/2015) [-]

i am sorry for the loss, i truly am. but i can't blame them, forgetting is the easy solution.

but you decide to remember and for that you are a much better human being then me. my grand mother has Alzheimer and in now in the state that she is just a husk. i barely think of her anymore and i cant remember the last time i visited her.

so i agree with you, people (most of them at least) suck
