I'd like to just be honest and say I've seen that comic but the joke itself isn't even from that. It's an old joke that I made a comic about. To be honest that wasn't even the main point of the comic. I also forgot about that when I was making this. Also, yeah I agree the sunglasses really make the joke.

I guess she's not THAT bad-looking, but personally, I'd prefer Jennifer Lawrence.

well the most recent movie i can think of would be Cowboys and Aliens. if you mean race i'm not wholly sure. i just know i would do unholy things to her given the chance.

Laughter is always good. Hence why I constantly watch the Creatures.

I love the way Lawrence portrayed Katniss, though. There was a lot more humor in "Thank you for your consideration" than anything my mind could render from the book version.
User avatar #135 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
i'm actually planning on catching that movie this weekend. haven't read the books in a while but i still remember the gist of it though. how true to the book is the movie?
User avatar #137 - keiishiyama (04/03/2012) [-]
Considering the substantial differences between books and movies in general, quite faithful. There were some stupid cuts that totally could've made it in, but some scenes are FAR superior in the movie.
User avatar #142 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
nice. did the genetically engineered dog monsters from the end make it in the movie? i can't imagine a scene like that being rated pg 13
User avatar #144 - keiishiyama (04/03/2012) [-]
They made it, but the psychological emotions behind it did not, sadly.
User avatar #145 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
damn :/ so which one did you prefer? the book or the movie?
User avatar #146 - keiishiyama (04/03/2012) [-]
Scene-by-scene, depends. As a whole, the book.
User avatar #151 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
i remember how good the first book was. the second and third however are are a different matter. i felt like in the 3rd book she was just going through killing some of the best characters one by one. i hope the movies do better.
User avatar #153 - keiishiyama (04/03/2012) [-]
I actually thought Catching Fire was better than The Hunger Games. Well, it was from Act II forward. And it led into Mockingjay perfectly, but as much as I like the series as a whole, Mockingjay was disappointing compared to the first two.
User avatar #162 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
catching fire wasn't bad, but mockingjay just seemed phoned in to me. the ending wasn't all that interesting to be honest. katniss and peeta live happily ever after with a few nightmares here and there? really? maybe it's just me but i don't think katniss should've made it through the last book. or if she did, she definitely shouldn't have had to settle for peeta.
User avatar #166 - keiishiyama (04/03/2012) [-]
I was infuriated when SPOILER ALERT Prim was killed off like that, and I always liked Gale more. The whole thing seems way too forced and bland. Why would Katniss live happily ever after in the shattered remains of her old town?
User avatar #246 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]

Nice. Thanks. I didn't even notice.
User avatar #192 - zeusx (04/03/2012) [-]
my thoughts exactly. i always thought she was going to end up with gale. i never really liked peeta as a character.

correct me if i am wrong, but i believe that alternative actually references an "alternative" to grunge music. producers saw how popular the movement was, and decided to try and make it slightly more appealing to a wider audience
User avatar #782 - omnomnominator (03/30/2012) [-]
Alternative was basically what Grunge grew to become, you're right that producers wanted to make money, the Nevermind album was made for that reason, producers heard Bleach and wanted to get their hands on Kurt Cobain, this paved the way for alternative, and Alternative is usually used to reference the fact that it's an alternative to the mainstream, which became rather ironic, as a lot of modern alternative bands and alternative songs become the most well known bands and songs in the world.

Ace, sorry if I sounded rude, I've just been a metal guitarist for years, and while I can understand saying Van Halen and stuff is easy for a standard technically minded guitarist, these pieces are what people work at for months to perfect, it's like when people claim Dragonforce is just 'easy stuff played fast', or even that they speed up their records. Often it's a case of jealousy.
