I've seen people lose themselves to it in the way of which they got stupid and into other drugs which isn't how I work. I know how idiotic and dangerous other drugs are and I'm not going to start them. Weed doesn't ruin lives. People ruin it by getting stupid with drugs other than weed. Sure it's known as a gateway drug. But it has no ties with cocaine or anything. That's just being idiotic and trying ot be a badass

That's fair enough then, we both have our opinions, working in music, I've met a lot of people who use drugs of many kinds, and I find that, in general, bands that are 'clean', as they say, are more successful than bands who use drugs, even if the drug is just weed, so it's natural that I'll want to stay away from it like the plague. To each their own, however, it annoys me when you have weed users saying it doesn't cause any harm, and that alcohol and cigarettes are more dangerous. All three are, and that's why I'm against all three, personally.

Well good sir. Cool story on being a musician and all but I do have hobbies. And I'm never broke because I need to fuel a habit. Weed isn't anything close to a dependence for me. I smoke weed to have fun. It's nowhere close to my habit or addiction. I also don't see in any way how having an education will never mean anything. Considering you only make it far in life off of a career in which you can't obtain without an education
User avatar #14 - omnomnominator (07/07/2012) [-]
Ah, there you've misunderstood. I never said that education means nothing, I value education above all else, however, it will not always help in everything you attempt, so, using weed to replace other useful activities isn't the cleverest thing. If you have utter control over weed, fair play, have fun, however, be aware of it, it can ruin lives, and it has, so always be aware that it can take control, I've seen lots of people lose themselves because of it.

It must be better over here in England, where they generally call it Post Hardcore, or something, and it's never mentioned as being Metal. In fact, people who do call it Metal are made fun of, I once had a scene kid band open for one of my bands, and they were convinced they were metal. Practically laughed out of the building XD

She seemed to think i was bad at art on purpose even though I was working my ass of staying after class and everything, and I told her I'm never gonna be able to paint you a Rembrandt at best you'll get Something Picassoesque.

Well, in classes that require creativity, like music, art and drama, teachers often favour the more talented members of the class (no offense), for instance, in my music class, my music teacher loved me to bits, whereas she didn't pay any attention to those who weren't proficient at an instrument. It's wrong, but it's natural, sadly. Did you take Art as an option, or was it required?

You have to play some Generic pop song that is "Deep and meaningful" but honestly doesn't make sense. Sad but true. Thats how it works.

Okay well that seems completely without regard for the definitions of "public" and "private" but who am I to disagree with the English ways?
User avatar #71 - omnomnominator (05/29/2012) [-]
It came from the times when 'Private Education' referred to those who was home schooled, as only the wealthy could afford tutors, so Public School literally means 'Open to the paying public', like how a religious school would not accept people outside of the faith (schools in England are known for actually checking with the local priest etc and making sure each student regularly attends services), any school that's funded by the government is generally called a State school.
