Finding the work was easy for me, problem was the pain right in the start. But yes, there are a lot of problems - especially with well fare. But it is not in reality the biggest concerns, but it is up there.

I honestly don't give two shits about Behring Breivik, I am sorta sad they didn't just shoot him that day on the Utøya- as cold as that sounds, less money, time and effort of the government spent on him.

Time will tell what they do, I hate speculating on what they may or may not do - actions will speak for them.

Yes, same for me - in Norway too.

Hit and run really busted me up, my back and shoulder. If it was in the states, I'd be in crippling debt at the moment, but I am not, working and working on getting past the injuries before resuming my degree.

Norway has a lot of shit too though, a lot.

Tell me of Norway's shit!
Seriously, I haven't heard much of anything bad going on in the Scandinavian countries.
User avatar #317 - smaaen (04/27/2014) [-]
There are many things, and many different views on said things - some thing they are bad, and some thing they are good. But here goes:

The country priorities taking in more and more immigrants (which I really don't mind, all for helping people), but they give them short cuts everywhere, work, place to live and give them an obscene amount of money, all the while Norwegian citizens suffer. I speak from experience, I nearly died from a hit and run driver, and I've lost about 4 years of my life just trying to get past the pain. During that time (the start, when pain was worst) I had to live on 5-6k NOK a month, that is including rent. Might be a little biased, but I am not the only person with a situation like that, or was - now I am all good on money, but the problem is still there. And if you speak up against it, you get shit because you're being a "racist".

Then you have the police and law system, which is ridiculous, to say the least. And if you don't know a lot about it, the police have generally less power than a random security guard when it comes to apprehending people. Not to mention majority of them have poor training and don't dare go against "dangerous people" because they are not allowed to use a gun unless the situation is dire - and even then they have to call in to get a code from their precinct just to open the box in the car containing both gun and ammunition (separate boxes).

I hate using this as an argument, but millions have been spent on making sure that Anders Behring Breivik is living a comfortable and nice life in "prison" with hit flat screen tv, nice shower and gaming consoles.

Also, Behring went on a hunger strike because his PS2 didn't get upgraded to a PS3. And that was, according to him, inhumane treatment.

He needs some seriously furious hedgehogs up his ass.
#323 - ohfudgemyballs (04/27/2014) [-]
Yeah, same. I was out of work for about three months (literally couldn't find any work past washing a few cars etc). I got 4000 NOK a month to live off of (and my rent was 6500 at the time). A friend of mine who worked offshore got 19 000 a month for over a year because he'd been working 3 months on the sea that year.

I work in health, and immigrants get way too much money way too easily. I really don't mind getting immigrants, but I do mind having to pay taxes for too many of them to snitch off of our welfare system.

IMO they should remake the entire welfare system, and force people into work. Can't speak Norwegian or English? Packaging work.

The rich people that break laws, much like in America, get sent to what is basically a club resort for half a year, then they get out - and they don't lose their money. Murder, rape, it's no real downside to doing it. As all that happens is you get sent to a hotel where they bend over sideways to give you a comfortable life in prison. This is all different opinions I know, "rehabilitate vs making them harsher people", but it's messed up in my opinion.

Then you have the politicians themselves, preaching about equality between the people, that being their reasoning for the immigration tax laws and money that goes into it - all the while they sit with a monthly pay of 50k NOK after taxes, some even more, a lot more.

That is just touching the very tip of how the government works in Norway. School, medicine, for example, is great (almost free healthcare is another win though, but high taxes).
Norway, as a country, is wealthy yes, but there are a lot of corruption and buying your way past 'obstacles' which is the normal in pretty much every country nowadays - but the country itself: as in the majority of the people and the nature, is fantastic. But the government itself is shit.

Bear in mind this is all personal opinion here.
#325 - ohfudgemyballs (04/27/2014) [-]
The previous government was helluva shit. I'm curious to see what the new gov can manage to do within two-three years. They're still cleaning up the mess of the last government, so I dunno.

This far, with the whole abortion issue etc, it seems like they're slowly getting sucked dry of life and stand-out opinions. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they ended up with pretty much the same politics as the previous government eventually.

But yeah, lots of hidden corruption that "can be explained".

You too... it's like you didn't read the entire thing and just narrowed in on the parts you wanted to notice. I said "For all of these situations you're A GOOD PERSON let's say" meaning that ONLY believing in god doesn't get you into heaven.

You are also sounding like an asshole and I don't know why you're doing this... i'm not insulting anyone or being a jerk. Why am I being attacked for no reason? You realize that you're behaving like the stereotypical atheist right? The one that just insults ANY person who even loosely implies he believes in a god?
#55 - ohfudgemyballs (04/26/2014) [-]
Also, I didn't attack anything when it comes to your belief in a god. I just pointed out (rather lamely though) that your explanation for a heaven doesn't seem too logical.

By your definition, as long as you think it's going to happen, it will happen. The whole "just believe, you won't lose anything" doesn't really work though, as you'll be spending lots of time in your life thinking and doing acts in the name of something that you don't really believe in. In comparison to not believing and not wasting time on any of that.

... or that you just believe in because you don't want to be on the wrong side of a bet. And that's more egotism than actual belief.

I don't believe, and I don't not believe. I just figured out that we can argue all we want: The answer to any of this won't ever pop up, because we're too limited and stupid to understand it. So I don't argue, and I don't see the point in spending time in something that might or might not exist. I'd rather not spend that time. As long as I'm a nice guy in real life, I don't see the point in me burning in hell because I don't like my almighty dad who never said hi or showed any sign of existing.
#53 - ohfudgemyballs (04/26/2014) [-]
I read the entire thing. You're still saying "given you're a good person AND:"

- you're imagining there's an infinite happy place, there will be an infinite happy place.

Same as
- you're imagining there's an infinite place of fireballs and awesome magic, there will be just that.

My point was just that I don't see the conviction in "if you just think it's true and you're a nice guy, it'll happen when you die". It just makes it seem all the more like a happy story to tell poor and disprivileged people so they don't give up on life.

It's just my viewpoint though, so it's not meant to be taken offensively. I was rough in the last post, and I'm sorry about that. I'm just helluva exhausted today.
