I still don't think that the bible is correct in a lot of ways
thats because your applying an ancient book to modern times
You really think God (just assume you believe for a sec) had the bible written as an instruction book for all of humanity until it wasn't needed anymore (second coming) incorrectly? Of course it applies to modern society, there's no way (again if you believe, if not then o carry on sir) God just had it written for that time period, or it would get "outdated" we are not as intelligent as we would like to think. I'm just saying.
i dont think its an instruction book for all of humanity otherwise why would he give us free will if we are meant to follow a book?
He gave us a choice not to follow Him. Because He wants us to choose Him. Should you choose to not live in sin, then the bible is the way to go.
i think he gave us free will because he knew man would manipulate and alter his words so its up to us to educate ourselves as much as we can
I really doubt we were able to manipulate his words ( in the actual bible), if it wasn't his will, after all He is God. Imagine you built a robot to love you. Would you love the robot back? Kind of the point of free will. We aren't robots but he wants His children to choose Him and love Him.
i respect where your coming from but i dont really see your point but i want to, so please go on
What I'm saying is the free will was only so we could choose Him. It wasn't forced love, He wanted us to Love him because we chose to. Not saying man hasn't tried to manipulate is words btw (look at the Catholic church), they decided to have a pope by council, they also decided that his words would be biblical doctrine, so yes obviously we have skewed things. But the actual untainted bible is Gods word. It is literally what He wanted us to see, read, and understand thousands of years later.
you just agreed with me lol but i think the bibles true words and messages has surely been lost in translation
Well sure it is possible, but do you think that if God didn't want that to happen it would anyway? Do you know the process they have to go through when they remake a bible, they literally go over almost every single word.
that reminded me of the assassin's creed 3 ending
hell I don't care im agnostic I just think its flawed
of course it is everything is it it our jobs as people to educate ourselves as much as we can and base our decisions off that not just mindlessly follow an ancient text
