A cops job isn't to be able to fight with every in hand to hand combat, that puts extra risk on them and the people around them, what if he had decided to try to fight him, say he wins, great. say he loses and brown gets a hold of his gun and shoots him, or ends up shooting someone else with it, its not about protecting Micheal Brown its about protecting himself and possibly others, so its not a case of should have or shouldnt have tried to stop him by hand, its a case of "whats the worst that could happen if i try and fail" and he couldn't afford to take that risk, even if they were trained in hand to hand combat.

Let it be known that said "teenager" was 6 foot 4 inches and weighed nearly 300 pounds .

While yes they are trained to handle scenarios in the best way possible, you have to look at the Officers situation here:
Already been attacked in his vehicle and put under the possible stress of having to fight for his gun.
Has suffered trauma to the head, which not only can affect his ability to defend himself/restrain the attacker, it makes it much easier for the attacker to get ahold of his lethal weaponry.
The attacker is now charging you, you have to make a split-second decision because logic would dictate this man will go for your gun again, and you are in a worse position now to defend yourself than when you were in your vehicle. The man is also larger than you in many respects and you're not sure how well you could take them in a hand-to-hand situation. (Let's also not forget he has a friend right by that could join in at any point in time)
Your choices are to:
Fight hand to hand, not the best decision considering your current state.
Use non-lethal weaponry, also not the best decision since it could be ineffective or provide him an opening to get your gun.
Fire your gun to ward him off or eventually kill him. Micheal Brown was shot multiple times before being killed, he did not stray from his course because of these shots so it's only fitting to think the officer made the correct decision.

When said unarmed teenager runs at a cop yelling shoot me, that is called natural selection.

Id like to point out that even though this guy is scum and broken the justice system in this case makes no sense and isnt just at all, example, how the fuck do you charge someone with 24 murders when you only killed 12 i mean i see how you can charge attempted murder when he really only hit 58 people that didnt die, if there were 116 people to survive the attack. but seriously, how fair is that to get charged with more murders than you actually did. Corruption?

So, should we do it mathematicly?
from your post I get that 128 people in the cinema
So he should be convicted of 12 murders, 58 times assault, I see that.
but what about the rast 58?
Or did I misunderstand completely and your problem was that he murdered 12 and not 24? (I mean he'll never leave prison anyway, so it's just a matter of numbers isn't it?)
#41 - karrotj (10/31/2014) [-]
yes the 12 murders not 24 murders cause obviously 24 people didnt die, however i wouldnt get assault charges because he obviously he was in the process of attempting to murder them, so i guess the 116 counts of attempted and 58 counts of aggrivated assault would be more fitting, yes?

I think it someone did explain that, it's for two different courts, a Federal and an Civil court, Civil for the families to press charges for what happened, and federal for the goverment to do it aswell.
Check #6 - RatchetandClank a little further down, he explained it better.
